Yip been like that for the last few days currently now it says undergoing maintenace which is a good sign that it will be back up anytime now. Both PSN and Xbox live were both hacked as far as i know Xbox live was supposed to be back yesterday not 100 perecnt sure tho.

The sad cretins responsible must be rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of all those children in Europe and the US opening their shiny new consoles and not being able to play online.
Its believed to be the work of Lizard Squad but both Sony and MS are not providing any real information. Xbox live came back yesterday while players around the world are still struggling to get online with PSN. If anything this shows that the security for both Sony and MS needs to be drastically improved.
Its being reported that former megaupload owner, Kim Dotcom paid the hackers off with a free subscription to his new site. They gladly accepted and stated that they had ended their action. If true this sets an uncomfortable precedent as they and any other disturbed little tosser with the know how can effectively hold cyber space to ransom.

Its back online at the moment you can see your friends list, go on the PSN store and use the game servers now.

A quick update the PSN store is still down.

Had the delayed Dying Light ordered for a few weeks from local shop. Read yesterday that its been delayed yet again by a month. Disc copy now not released until the end of February. However, the downloadable version is still on schedule for 28th January. Getting really pissed off with nearly every game being delayed. Why not wait until they know its going to meet the deadline before announcing a date. Very cynical with the marketing methods being used across the gaming industry.

The reality is simple the next gen consoles are simply not ready for the market. The range of games on the market place are too expensive, not varied enough and more worryingly in my opinion the software developers are struggling to keep up with the pace of change required to differentiate the PS4 and XBOX One from their previous incarnations.

I agree, i have to admit that am a little disapointed with the next gen consoles don't get get me wrong am really glad that i bought a PS4 but there simple hasn't been any killer games, the games have been a lot more costly and the game graphics not looking so different from previous gen. The Wii U had a similar problem with a lack of games and we know Nintendo issues with 3rd party games but the quality of games for that system is getting much better its just a shame they rushed the launch rather then release it with hardly any games.
I've actually dusted of my old games on the Gamecube and Wii and been play games Super Street Fighter 2, Streets of Rage 1 n 2, Super Mario Galaxy and even bought the second one half price on the Wii U and after 8 years i've started playing Metroid Prime 3 again and am actually enjoying these games a lot more.
The next gen consoles will get better with the likes of Uncharted 4, The Order:1886, Halo 5, Forza 6, Batman Arkham Knight, Metal Gear 5: The Phantom Pain, Mortal Kombat X, Project Cars and there' many more the consoles just need time to find there feet but i think they should have held bck the launch of the consoles till the developers get the hang of the new hardware.
As for Dying Light that sounds a bit dodgy to me, so they delay the physical copy of the game by a month but the digital download of the game is still coming out and will probably cost more then the phsyical copy hmmmmm.

If it wasn't for the "classic" playlist on Advanced Warfare I don't think my PS4 would get touched. I bought Drive Club and that got off to a terrible start with the online issues, I bought The Crew and was a bit *meh* about it, CoD:AW is pretty shit and everything else I've wanted to buy has been pushed back or given no date at all (Yes, I'm looking at you The Division!).

I use it as a BluRay player but all the other stuff, the TV apps etc, I've already got access to on my Apple TV so never have a reason to use them.

I'm still hopefully for a better year of releases, Mortal Kombat X is the main title I'm looking to pick up but will see what Dying Light is like when it gets released and Battlefield:Hardline if or when that comes out too.

Come on Sony get your act together.
