I went with my aging father to the doctors this morning, woken up very early, and made it to the surgery in good time, however this doctor isn't renowned for her punctuality so we had a 25min wait(she was running 14mins late) before she saw him. He has had a terrible cough and at this time of year you worry it could be something awful-we had such an awful year last year-but he should have gone at the first sign. Anyway he has been given an inhaler and antibiotics for a chest infection(which is what I thought it was) and hopefully we can ALL get a decent night's sleep. This might explain some of my terse replies on threads - sorry but if I don't get enough sleep it can affect me in a lot of ways, so if you were offended by anything typed today then I apologise, it doesn't get any easier as parents get older. Just to sound like a big kid.
I've woken up this morning to find out that its snowed over night. Big Grin

Sledge and snowballs Cool
LadDad blogger has managed to the Christmas no1 with his a version of I Love Sausage role.
The records not great but it's being made for a great charity
Be thankful they never re released There's No One quite Like Grandma!! Good to see a charity song no.1 for Christmas raising money for a great cause - better than having a Simon Cowell song hog the no 1 spot

Getting rid of the nasty which has made me feel like utter crap in the last couple of days, still got the cough and feel a bit washed out but definately on the mend....

And seeing the mighty Reds becoming World Champions, and you can say I’m feeling in a good place right now Big Grin
went to Wigan yesterday and watched my beloved Bristol City win plus Wigan was the 60 different ground i have seen city play at so a double reason to be happy,
Aren't Liverpool playing Bristol City or Shrewsbury Town in the 4th round of the FA Cup-I didn't see the score in the replay.

Anyway this morning I met my best friend, whose father's funeral I and my father were unable to attend last month due to illness, to sort of clear the air. He had told my father by e-mail that he was disappointed, sad, angry etc that I hadn't asked about him after the funeral or sent a text. We sat and chatted and I pointed out that another friend of mine had asked for privacy for some time and didn't want text messages, social media stuff etc, so I took that as my pattern for this and I also said I wanted to wait until I had my voice back to TALK to him rather than just send a message but it would appear I made a grave error of judgement this time, perhaps being a little naive and we sort of fell out over it, but once I had said my bit and he had put his point it was fine and we remain the firmest of friends(since the 1978 so over 40 years) Later we exchanged very late Christmas presents too. I am a lot happier as I had been dreading this day and what he might say.
Finally got my PS4 up and running again, and it didn't cost a penny. I stripped down an old DVD/DVR recorder and swapped out the hard drive, now my Playstation is running faster than ever and, more importantly, completely silent Cool

Finally sorted out my banking stuff having schlepped all the way back to the bank(Brent Cross branch) and got the right details entered. Now all I have to do is wait for the post and be sent a verification code for the other bank and then hopefully all will be finalised that end as well. Financial stuff always flummoxes me, good job my Dad is around to advise me, he knows a lot more about this than I do, but learning all the time for the future.
