Paragon Partition Manager will supposedly convert NTFS to Fat32.
They do a free version with limited features, so you may need the paid-for version to get the conversion ability.

Alternatively, move as much data as possible, so you have half the drive free, shrink the ntfs partition to half the size of the drive, create a fat32 partition in the empty space, move the data across from the ntfs to the fat32 partition, delete the ntfs partition, then resize the fat32 partition to fill the drive.

Gparted is a decent partition manager which can be downloaded as a bootable image that can be burned to a usb stick to enable you to do stuff like this. I don't think it will do an ntfs conversion, but I may be wrong.
Hello to any computer people I wondered if you could help me sort out a puzzle.

I did a crutial run on my laptop and it said I could have up to a 1 gig pc 2700 in each slot. This is what i got.

Precisly : 1GB DDR SODIMM (200 Pin) 333Mhz DDR333 PC2700 LAPTOP MEMORY Cas Latency 2.5

Puts it in everything was fine, then I did an Everst run and in memory it said - SPD (I assume speed) pc 3200 (200 Mhz)

This puzzled me, it doesn't look at be the memory i ordered but everyhting works fine.

I was wondering does the pc 3200 bit mean i have better memory in than I should. or does the 200Mhz mean it slower than the 333 Mhz i ordered.

I have had no reply from the sellers.

Thanks.

PC3200 is capable of running faster than PC2700 RAM but can replace PC2700 RAM and just work at the same speed as the PC2700 did.
You cannot replace PC3200 with PC2700 RAM though.
From wikipedia, it looks like you are confusing the 200MHz and 333MHz figures (circled in red below)

Ah right good, so they are essentially the same, or run at the same speed.

thanks. Big Grin

ps, the 333 was MHz

unless they got it wrong.
Not sure if this is the right place, but hoping someone can advise about file sharing hosts?

I've picked up some links from sites I'm not used to and am having difficulty downloading;

embedupload:
there are a couple of Download buttons on the page - one offers me an unspecified "setup.exe" at 437KB and the other offers "imeshV11.exe" at 2.30MB. Assume the imesh to be an advert but neither offer me the vid I want?
EDIT: tried this again and its a bit strange - the page offers a file called "Downloader" at 12.8MB, but the Save As dialogue says it's trying to download "setup.exe" at 437KB. The other button offered alternatively imesh, ilivid and bearshare so apparently adverts.

toucansharing:
can't even get to the download page as my security blocks it as a 'Dangerous Page'. Guess this is a lot to do with my security settings, but I used to be able to access to Toucan so something else has changed (perhaps the site being tagged 'dangerous'?). I have an option to open anyway but don't like ignoring warnings...

Neither download are worth taking risks for but wondered if anyone knows why?

thanks
Not sure if this belongs here or in the tech zone, but the screen of my laptop is a bit smudged and dirty. Does anyone know what I can use to clean it without damaging the laptop in the process? Thanks if anyone can help
http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-a-Laptop-Sc...d-Products

basically a very lightly damp cloth. make sure the cloth you use is free from anything likely to scrape the screen.

Smile
Cheers Terence, I will give it a try
