I have been given a laptop,it is running WINDOWS8,it does not have a touch screen,i knew using a laptop would be a far cry from a PC,but this is so frustrating, the one thing that is infuriating me no two actually, one is Facebook,i have a lot of relatives in Australia when i bring up FB it tells me that the person i am trying to view is not signed to the People App,and i have found i cannot use my Windows Live Email, also on FB i cannot scroll down,if this had not been a gift it would go straight in the bin.annoyed
is anyone else getting problems logging in to this site? every time i log in it goes ok,then when i click on todays post it says welcome guest, please log in,so then i log in again and everything works ok,any clues to what the problem is,or is this an issue for the tech guys to solve? bladewavebladewavebladewave
^ Yes the same things happened to me .
if you're regularly clearing your browsing history make sure your not clearing your cookies as well. the problem you're describing happens after you clear your cookies and then log back in to the site. it happens the first time after clearing your history but should be ok after that untill you clear your cookies again.

Can someone suggest a reasonably priced PSU to replace what appears to be an HEC-550TD-PTE, marked with INTEL P4 LGA775, INTEL ATX 12V VER 2.01.

Not sure if the above will help and the only other information I can currently provide, is that it is from a MESH custom build running Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2006.

I have had a hunt around and seen models that may be suitable, but just thought that some of you out there may know of some good and reliable models.

Thanks.

Any recent PSU should be ok. Its only the power (watts) that are important. Buy one with at least as high power rating, preferably higher, than your existing PSU.
The experts say you should pay more for a good reliable model, but I have built several PCs over the years using different makes and never had any trouble with fairly cheap ones.
Very old ones may not have the P4 connector and you may need extra connectors to power any SATA devices. The main motherboard power connector is now 24 pin, but the 4 extra pins can usually be slid off and not used if your motherboard is only 20 pin.
Right I'm going off one here!!
I am getting increasingly FED UP with the amount of pop ups, I get saying I need to update this and update that and I end up installing stuff that I feel is unnecessary (I use IE 10) I was watching Fern last night when I got a message saying I need to update my viewer program and needed to update Java.
This I did and now I get pop ups all over the bloody place on my screen!! from twitter to Facebook Youtube!!
In frustration I ended up breaking my headset which I'll replace after Xmas. Can anyone recommend a good program that blocks all pop ups or a program that only install software that you really need to update from a safe & recommended sources (I was going to reinstall to factory settings I have done in the past but I fear if I do it this time I'll end up losing some stuff for good, even though I have most stuff on a external drive)
God knows why Microsoft ever put out software on PC's that doesn't protect you properly from pop ups so you can surf in peace and not have messages/ads
popping up on your screen the whole time when you don't want them there!! It drives me up the wall so damn much to have to deal with it.
I hope I strike a chord with many of you and I'm sure many of you probably feel the same way as I do about this. Rant over.
if you try using google chrome it has ad block which is pretty good. you should scan your computer with your anti virus software because it sounds like you've downloaded some sort of malware.

what anti-virus software are you running?
