The latest list of complaints made to Ofcom against the babe channels.

Since my last post there have only been two complaints made within the last three weeks of which one was against an encrypted channel that was very close to the 60 day limit for the retention of recordings. Perhaps someone complained about the (lack of) strength of the broadcast.

Whilst this is good news to some extent there are still a lot of complaints from the previous 4 weeks that are still to be investigated.

Now it would be normal to see at this hour a post with the latest Broadcast Bulletin attached bearing the bad news about more broadcasts having been found in breach but this fortnight no investigations were made against the babe channels, so i think the next bulletin will be dedicated to the babe channels especially Tease Me TV Freeview.

One really has to wonder about anyone who complains about an encrypted channel. Since Ofcom rules dont allow complaints about Generally Accepted Standards or effect on under 18s on an encrypted channel that only leaves R18 or advertising a hardcore website as grounds for complaint. Or time of day, but I cant see Climax3 getting that wrong. The complaint could be about the strength of a freeview, but seriously, what is someone of delicate sensitivities doing straying into the middle of the adult channel numbers at exactly the moment a channel goes freeview?

Ofcom seem to go in for themed Bulletins. Sometimes they have one focussing on bunches of advertising breeches, another time it have be music channels or some other collation with a common thread. As we know, sometimes its an across the board warning shot to all the babe channels at the same time. In between they clear complaints as they work through them and aim to include at least one finding that is in their hobby/fun zone, namely Babe channels, particularly their bete noir, BangBabes.

This time round they seem to have been particularly pre-occupied with what sounds like an involved Muslim-on-Muslim complaint, where one religious group denied the validity of another and quoted texts calling for the death penalty. This only involved deciding on 3 broadcasts, but no doubt they fretted terribly about the political sensitivities of telling people off for insulting religion and making what might be considered incitements to murder. They may have poured huge amounts of management time into this to ensure that their arguments are watertight and set a standard for insult vs freedom of spech that they can stand by next time. These very inflatatory comments did not attract a fine or closure, though the channel has promised to introduce a time delay and new procedures.

The absence of complaints about babe channels have never stopped them before. They probably have a small stockpile awaiting decision. What is interesting in that this could indicate some complaints originated from a few people and they have stopped. Or not - only time will tell.
Happy days, well no news in good news then, lets hope that we get more pissed off muslins complaining then about religious stuff then, keep the ofcom bastards busy for a change.
Did I mis read the pdf or was a complaint about Animal welfare not upheld vs Elite? WTF was that all about?
think it might have been when danica did a dayshow and got her pet dog willy to join her on camera

I reckon thats a bit unfair that it's happened, know danica is responsible for her actions for her pet dog, but we have to admit ofcom are a busybody who poke their noses in the most trivial circumstances.
Didnt read as far as the Complaints Not Upheld.

Interesting to see Cream getting let off for their show on 24/7. It would be interesting to see just how often babe shows get let off as we all suspect their is a bias towards finding them guilty.

The section is subtitled "Up to 20 Sept" meaning there was a question mark over the legality of their content for almost 2 months. In some lines of work that could close a business down. Its quite possible the complaint never stood a chance, and compared to other sectors 2 months is quick for a ruling (speeding tickets, health & safety, sexual harassment, etc) but in most other sectors the law is well defined. Only in broadcasting does the suspect admit exactly what happened, and then some sort of court argues about whether it was legal. Its a fast moving sector with a fluid customer base who go to the broadcaster who is closest to the knuckle.
So yet another two weeks go by when no complaints are made to the regulator against the babe channels.

Whilst this is now 4 clear weeks free from complaints there are still outstanding complaints to be decided upon, generally against Early Bird (freeview). These will probably be addressed in the next fortnightly bulletin on Monday.

Now i've been watching the night shows recently and they all seem to be playing safe at the moment with no producer 'pushing the boundaries'.
A different story on daytime where The Pad, and to some extent Elite are still minimising not only the amount of clothing worn but the transparency of such clothing, c-thru knickers seem to be the norm with Fernando.
At the moment i'm with pewack1976 and daytime tv gets my call over the nightshows, tittape included.
What the hell do these fools from Ofcon think that they are achieving with this "witchunt" ?

What are their measures of success from the last 6 years of censorship?

Transmission date was 18/08/2010 (Wednesday)....surely Danica would have been on nights if she was working ?
