I got this just now trying to return to main page from a thread. (No of users at the time...421). Apart from this small glitch, site is working fine.

There appears to be an issue with forum backups, as today's backup is timed at 09:15 and your post following the error message is timed at 09:18, which is not the first time that the error you report has been seen around the time that a backup is taking place. I'll investigate why making a backup causes this error to occur.
Seems to be happening a fair amount tonight. Sad

Think its to do with the random high level of guest we have tonight for some reason i mean 1,024 guests are on the board at this moment compared to just 209 members.
^^^^ Is the Chatbox still slow?

Is still a bit slow.
I don't know if this problem is related to the forum doing a back-up at the time your trying to log on, or post, as it it's happened to me at different times during a day.

Does the forum run back-up's at the same time? or does the time vary?
Backups are usually done in the morning. It was between 7:10am and 7:15am today.
someone may have posted this alrdy if so sorry for duplicating but it has taken me 25 mins to get on here and start to make this post.

if i go into a thread it loads fine 95% of the time. also the forum is running so slow its not even funny, it takes about 3 - 4 mins to load any page in this forum.

anyone got any idea?

Its hard to tell what the issue is, but it would maybe be worth checking whether its an issue with your ISPs DNS Servers. You could try using Open DNS instead.

I wouldn't advise that you mess around with your internet settings too much if you're not sure how to change your DNS details. The Open DNS site has guides for various platforms which can be accessed through this page. http://www.opendns.com/support/category/3
