Do those Asian and Eastern/Northern European countries at the top of the table get a faster service just because they pay more, or is there some other explanation? Anyone know?
South Korea is top of that league, perhaps because of the amount of US involvement in the country...

Thought id hijack this thread with a question, im already a bit techy but more with programs/software, rather then cables, i currently have my sky bb modem plugged into my computer with a poundland ethernet cable and i have the rj11 cable plugged into some cheapy adsl filter which is then connected to a 20 metre telephone extension (also from poundland) that is plugged directly in the the B.T master socket, now clearly i know im going to lose alot of my speed through my set up, so any suggestion on how to make my bb more efficent?
and which brand cables/adls filters are the best ?
Netgear Super Wireless ADSL Router DG834GT is the modem i have
