Exactly, and I know of least of 15 people using boxes that have no pin protection. Ofcom may have done research to find out how many boxes don't have it but if they made no effort to find out how many of these boxes are actually in use then they have wasted there time. I have come across in my lifetime 35 different models with no pin protection. Anyone care to hazard a guess at how many more there is out there and how many of the things where sold.

Ofcom's research was within the industry, so it should be a simple exercise to find out how many have been sold.

Ofcom always express the reasons for their actions in terms of the level of threat they perceive, yet didn't think this one worth further investigation.

I'm impressed that you know of 15 people who have boxes without pin protection - I have no idea how many people that I know of even have Freeview, let alone what sort of box/tv they have!

Most of the people I know are cheep, and they don't mind me saying that they even say it themselves if you ask them

Most of them have freeview £20 boxes that they bought years ago.

I have had at least 6 different Freeview boxes/PVRs, all different makes, since early 2004.
All of them have had PIN protection and channel removal facilities, apart from my Topup TV PVR.
It is true that channels cannot be removed from the EPG in this PVR, but it does have a child lock function with PIN protection to prevent certain material being viewed. I just got its manual out to check that.

i thunk extreme is ruining babestation i cant understand why anyone would want to pay for extreme unless someone like paige georgie or stevie [if she ever returns] were on at the moment most of the girls on extreme can be seen on many free websites and there is plenty of far more explicit porn out there if that is what you want let babestation get back to being what it once was

I agree,what extreme should have a test night, where the likes of paige,georgie,kandi,tammy,ella or charlie are given a night on there.Lets face it your not going to get them going full frontal or open legged ,but who cares, just to see them put on a more risky show would make me happy ,not like the tame shite because of ofcom at the moment

Excellent idea Dogman. I suggested something similar the other day i.e. have a (cheaper) "happy hour" where the girls we like (as opposed to the ones who are prepared to do full frontal) could do what they like. But a whole night would be even better. It would certainly get my money, whereas I would never pay for the current mish-mash of old porn movies and re-cycled naked babes that (generally) we don't want to watch.

Maybe the poster 'babestation' can answer this, is there any chance we will ever get to see any of the photos from the photoshoot that Honey Scott did for the Babestation website at all? Or any of the alleged videos Honey may have also possibly shot for the website? Thanks.

Hey, I just asked the content team and one of the photographers and as far as they're aware, Honey Scott didn't have a shoot of any kind while she was here, so I'm not sure where you would've heard that.

She would eventually have shot some stuff if she had been here longer, but it didn't happen in the month or 2 she was here.

I was meaning to get back to this on Thursday but got sidetracked, then forgot. It's a point that actually interested me as well, so I asked the people in the know for the stats; believe it or not, sales of pics/vids/xtreme, and generally the things the presenters push to viewers so much, were actually noticeably down.

As far as I know we had a slightly above average night on the phones, but I wouldn't say this made up for the drop in other sales.

So... I don't know, there's no way I'd sit here and say that the stats from one night without a host represent how the show would perform constantly if we took them out permanently. But, I also doubt it was a coincidence that sales of those things were down on the night we had no presenter.

Make of that what you will, but I would say it's likely that having no presenter can have a negative impact on sales.

Ok, thanks for the honest answer. From what you say looks like we're stuck with the hosts whether we like it or not.
So how about trying something else for a few nights. Restrict the hosts to voice-over or the side boxes, maybe full screen at changeover only. See what effect that has on sales, just for comparison.

Speaking as a caller having the girl you're talking to suddenly booted off-screen, often at a crucial moment (if you get my drift) by a stupid, gibbering telesales girl (I don't really mean that but that's how it feels at the time) is THE most annoying thing about them, especially near the end of the call.

Just imagine: You're watching your team in the cup final. The star player starts an amazing run from his own half. He's past 4 midfielders, then the 4 defenders.... He's only the goalie to beat.... He's in the penalty box.... He swings his leg back....Then.... The channel cuts to QVC (or a trailer for another channel you're not interested in). By the time the game's back on screen you've missed the best bit or worse still the games over.

Having the host come onto the bed's not quite so bad unless she starts to recite the entire bloody works of Shakespeare (seems like it sometimes) although it's more annoying on BsBlue as the phone-line is so crap it's hard to hear the girl at the best of times.

Anyway, 'Babestation', just a suggestion.
