The Vintage Magazine Shop is back online and had a bit of a re-vamp

Glad it is still going

Me too. I remember them in Earlham Street before they moved to Soho.

The verdict was announced this week and the magistrates hearing the case have rejected the appeal.
Hi

To resurrect this post

I was walking past Patisserie Valerie in Old Compton Street, it is now closed but it joins the Soho Sleaze column as there is yellow police tape narrated Crime Scene Do Not Enter

Anyone know what caused this ?
I don't know, but it's another old part of Soho gone, as Patisserie Valerie was in Soho since 1926 until it closed last month.

Hi

Talking to one of my friends, he was suggesting a visit to Maison Bertaux just in case it to closes.

To many of these places have gone, 4 years ago Rio the café went, my friend has sat at the table next to Andy Fairweather Low their in the 1960/70. Today it is on its second reincarnation as a sort of wine bar. Also Ed's Easy Dinner has gone along with the Vintage Magazine shop.

All a great loss
Hi

Trawling the net and found this Soho 1980 with some of the sleaze

Hi

On Saturday 30th FV Channel 89 11.00 pm they are showing the Mary Millington Story again

From memory lots of Soho and the Characters and good to refresh the memories
I walked past the Windmill a couple of days ago. It looks like it's still open at the moment. I assume an appeal was made and it's still pending.

Hello Marlowe,

I read the above and they lost their license at the end of October 2018.

This was appealed see article below

http://thefancarpet.com/movie_news/the-i...ning-show/

Thing is in theory the appeal should have been heard and actioned but it is still pending

On an aside there is reports that one of the lapdancing clubs has been organising stings against competitors see article below

So it looks like the murky days of old are returning to us
The Windmill must have lost their appeal, because the property has now been sold. It's another nail in the coffin of old Soho. The building is to be revamped and become a celebrity cocktail bar. No name has been announced yet, but the owners expect the new club to open in the final quarter of this year.
