A great result for England in what was always likely to be a very close match. Now to Vancouver and a clash with Canada who beat England 1-0 in a pre-tournament friendly.
Plenty of drama in the USA-Colombia match, 2 penalties, a missed penalty, a disputed sending off, a goal that was surely meant as a cross, but in the end a 2-0 victory for the USA and a quarter final against China.

Think it will be tough quarter Final against Canada seeing as they already beat England in a pre tournament friendly, But I do wonder if the astroturf has made it a better spectacle I guess is still open to question..I don't think it gives either team an advantage unless you play regularly on it (which clearly Canada do).
Kick off for our quarter final against Canada. sometime after midnight at the earliest, so i hope it dosen't go to extra time. I'll be watching on Eurosport though. I'm afraid the lady who gives the comments on the BBC matches makes me cringe as much as The Neville brother for the men's games.

I think it is right and proper for it to be promoted to BBC1.
I hope that despite the late kick off time that plenty of people will tune in and support the ladies. I have tuned in for most of the matches played in the tournament and watched all the England matches. I am enjoying it.
Canada will be a tough test on their own turf but England have a reasonable chance of getting to the final with the draw they have imo. If the manager sets the team up right and the team executes the gameplans well a run to the final is feasible.
The team have to think positive.
