In 1984 actor Steve Guttenberg turned down the role of Peter Venkman for Ghostbusters in favour of playing Mahoney in Police Academy. He later passed on the chance to play Josh Baskin in Big(1988).
Dangermouse fact:
The show has the initials 'DM' prominently emblazoned on his chest. This causes problems for those translating it into other languages, where a literal translation of the words 'Danger' and 'Mouse' do not have those initials; the Scots Gaelic version, for example, calls the show (and the lead) Donnie Murdo (two given names unconnected either with mice or danger). He was Dzielna Mysz (brave mouse) in Polish, Dundermusen (Thundermouse) in Swedish, and Dare Dare Motus in French, "Dare Dare" being French slang for "as fast as possible". The Slovene translation omitted the DM initials entirely, however, dubbing Danger Mouse Hrabri mišek ('Brave Mouse').
Brewster’s Million’s

Was based on the 1902 novel of the same name by George Barr McCutcheon. It is the seventh film based on the story, had no idea about that very interesting.

Bill Paxton didn't learn that he would be part of the infamous knife trick until it was time to shoot. The initial takes looked fake, so reshoots were scheduled for the next day, during which Lance Henrikson (Bishop) accidentaly caught Paxton's pinky with the knife.

Humungus (In Mad Max 2) was originally supposed to be Max's partner, Jim Goose. They decided against this but left a few hints, such as horrible burns behind Humungus's goalie mask, his raiders use of police vehicles and his own use of a weapon similar to the MFP's standard sidearm.
^ the actor who played Lord Humongous was a Swedish weight lifter named Kjell Nilsson. After The Road Warrior had become a cult favourite,Memphis Wrestling cashed in the character of Humongous by putting tall, massively built men in the same outfit in 1984.First,Jeff Van Kemp and 6ft 9" Sid Eudy,CWA resurrected the gimmick years later with Barry Buchanan and Eudy's son Gunnar both adorning the mask.
As far back as the 1960's most suits and some costumes for films were made by a cousin of my Mum's - his name was Dougie Millings(and he is credited in the film A Hard Day's Night making suits for The Beatles) Other film suppliers of costumes were Angels and Berman & Nathan's and today most costumes for fillm and television productions are by Angels. All their costumes are stored in a massive warehouse.
Here’s a interesting fact about Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, Kirk (William Shatner) and Khan (Ricardo Montalban) never actually met or are face to face in any scene throughout the movie.
Television. Remember those bleak Northern adverts for Birds Eye beef burgers with that dreary kid who even ignored his girlfriend unless they talked about them. Well an interesting fact was revealed to me by a friend. He claims he knew this kid and when they finished the ads he would spit out the beef burger into a bin because he hated them! Oddly enough the great cartoon voice-actor Mel Blanc, when he did his famous Bugs Bunny would also spit carrots into a bin because he hated them too.
The original script for Ghostbusters was gonna be set in the future.
JAWS was released on this date in 1975
