The problem CBB has , is the average contestant is either some ancient "star" from 20-30 years ago ,that only older viewers remember .Or ex reality tv personalities only the younger viewers know about .
To be honest I only knew "Our Sam",Biggins ,Her off Loose Women and Grant Bovey because he"s Anthea Turner's ex.Have only seen Eastenders about 6times in last 18 years ,so I didn't know Ricky . James Whale I knew .
So most were an unknown quantity tome .
Very few make a career outside of the show after it .
I can only think of Rylan who's benefitted from CBB .The rest apart from maybe the "Loose Women" go back to obscurity .

Corrine Russell had a succesful post P3 career as a professional dancer .She appeared in numerous tv shows ; Benny Hill , one of Hills Angels ,Kenny Everett Show .Corrine also appeared on numerous episodes of Top of the Pops as a backing dancer .She also appeared in a couple of famous films Absolute Beginners dancing on a giant typewriter keyboard with David Bowie .Corrine Russell is also the dancer in the opening title sequence of Roger Moore's last Bond film View to a Kill .
In fact Corrine Russell would fit the bill for the next CBB .Semi -talented ,was drop dead gorgeous 30 years ago and next to nobody would remember her .
That was the golden age of page three girls wasn't it? Kathy Lloyd, Gail McKenna, Maria Whittaker, Racheal Garley. All beautiful with natural tits. I didn't realise that Linda Lusardi tried to be a pop star. Always preferred her to Sam Fox because she was so much more down to earth. She appeared in the Bill for a while. I remember that.
Maria Whitaker also tried the pop star route and met with disaster .I remember her being on ITV mid-morning show circa 1989/90 , because the presenters kept trailing het with ".....and later on Page 3 Girl turned popstar Maria Whitaker will be here with hr new single " before every ad break .She was chronic (her singing , not her body !). Needless to say the record bombed .
One formrr P3 Girl who had massive success was Melanie Appleby .One half of the SAW chart toppers Mel & Kim (Respectable , Showing Out ,etc.) with her older sister Kim .Sadly Mel died from cancer at the very height of their success .
Kim had a top ten solo hit (Don't Worry) a couple of years later .She later married the non -related one from Bros. Craig Logan I think he was called .(How sad am I knowing this shit ?).
Nobody except maybe the Sun thought of Mel Appleby as a P3 girl branching out into a new career, though.
The number of P3 girls who do transfer to any other media career is less than 1% (Gail McKenna and Katie Price being other examples).

Mel was considered to be page3 material enough by the publishers of Daily Girls magazine .She had her own special issue along with the Sam Fox's ,Linda Lusardi's ,Maria Whitaker's ,Corrine Russell's etc.
Yeah , it was probably a cash-in on Mel's pop career ,but don't forget ALL the pics were taken when she was an aspiring glamour model and she was published in the Sun & Star well before any pop career .
