They were married between 1970-80 and they had a son together.

i have to admit that although my musical tastes cover a wide range of genres; and include music from around the time he began to now, i've never found bowie to be that great? i know i seem to be alone in this view, according to the rest of the web today, but i just don't get him....? i have tried listening to some of his tunes, even this morning, but nope... still nothing tingling inside..... perhaps i'm a dead fish when it comes to his voice, or just it grates on me too much to hear the music...?
I've said this elsewhere, I know there's Lennon and mac, but they were a duo, Bowie is this countries greatest solo pop artist.
You should avoid the more popular songs, maybe listen to some of this full albums from the 70's, try aladin slane and of course hunky dory.
For singles try something like, man who sold the world, lady grinning soul, sorrow, absolute beginers (full version).

We heard many times on the news yesterday how Bowie revelled in being the different/outsider/non-conformist one, so in a way he would probably be pleased to see someone going against the crowd.
