I happened to catch a bit of an episode focused on 1978, from the second series, which was being shown on weekday afternoons last week.

The theme from a landmark series, which was filmed in my part of the world. Starring Norman Beaton, and Joseph Marcell, who would later play Geoffrey the butler, the best character in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and even more deserving of starring in a spin-off series, than Soap spin-off, Benson, which starred the late, great Robert Guillaume.
But, for whatever reason, a spin-off which might have paralleled Frasier, in overshadowing its parent series, never happened, alas.
I'm old enough to recall Empire Road, faintly, but don't recall seeing Revolver, at that time. I don't think either series has been repeated since, but clips do turn up, especially the latter.

Matumbi featured Dennis Bovell, a pivotal figure in reggae in Britain, and producer of one of my favourite albums by one of my favourite bands, Cut by The Slits.

TOTP repeats started on 1993 last night. No look at 2000 tonight because presumably we're all meant to watch the Platinum Jubilee Party on BBC1 instead.

I thought the Platinum Party at the Palace was an odd mix of choices (BBC4 showed a similar show from 1977 or so & that was a bit weird too).

PSB' little seen film It Couldn't Happen Here is on SA at 9. BBC4 repeating a tribute to Roberta Flack at 9.

Repeats of Tina Turner and Eric Clapton concerts on SA from 7.

Glasto round-up show on BBC2 around 11.

The effective end of 4music is less an issue to me because the signal has been lousy for ages. That's TV now seems to be a better bet (in this region anyway).

SA are starting a new series of Live at the Artists Den tonight at 7 with the Black Crowes, followed by a doc on Roy Orbison.

SA going big on the anniversary of Elvis' death, presumably, with repeats of concert/tour films and otherwise films.

Stevie Nicks show on SA around half 8 I think.

The great Gary Numan gets his new prog on SA tomorrow night, and they're teeing up for it with some electro-themed stuff this evening from 7 or 8 as well.

SA have a short one on Elbow's most recent album from 8, then a longer one with PJ Harvey at 9.

BBC4 are celebrating Stevie Wonder with the Wonder-ful world of repeats.
