And if none of those are of interest, BET tv has a piece on Brandy at 10pm (Sky 187 or thereabouts). They did a good one on New Edition the other week.
Saxon at Wacken 2014, which was on - YES! - Sky Arts last week & possibly the week before. A fine bunch of lads, well, old blokes really.
Rock & Roll Guns for Hire - The Story of the Sidemen
BBC4 effort about usually live singers/musicians who are the wind beneath the wings for bigger stars like Bowie or the Stones. Whilst Earl Slick (the presenter) seemed at ease about his status, others, like Wendy & Lisa found Prince to be a bit of a mixed blessing. Maybe Steve Cropper came out the happiest, although as he co-wrote songs like Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, he can afford to be. He did say the intro to Knock On Wood is in fact the same intro as In The Midnight Hour but played backwards, which is the sort of trivia always worth finding out.
The Agony & The Ecstasy
Excellent 3-part series on Sky Arts about a month ago about the history of rave culture and all that. A really definitive series, capped by a top 20 rundown of the best tracks of the era (Papua New Guinea, Voodoo DJ, Where Love Lives etc)
What a load of rubbish was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize Album of the year. Around 7 of the 12 were rappers And out of the remaining bands not a lot to enjoy. A rapper won by the way
There's a Marc Bolan one on Sky Arts at 9pm tomorrow, too. Presumably it's the 40th anniversary of his death?

Looks like they are marking the 70th anniversary of his birth and the 40th of his death.
