This change was apparently for technical reasons. The stream provider wanted it done because they thought that increasing the minimum time required on the cam would make the service more stable.

No, as already explained it was the content provider's idea.
The change was not just pushed to Babestation Cams either, they managed to persuade Studio 66 to accept it as well.
It's only meant to be a trial though, so if the improvement to the service does not materialise the channels could reverse the change.

Well, it will make me think twice about clicking "Start Show", and I suspect a lot of others.
At least on S66 you can read the chat and gauge what might be going on, unlike on BS.

so am i.... you can click "start perv cam" without being logged in and read the chat or being logged with no credits and talk to the girls (whether they reply is another matter). If its bugged, you can sometimes read the what the customer is saying whilst there in private.

Does that include the "technical issues" of cam pointing to the wall of the floor, out of focus, pointing straight at one of the studio lights? I could go on...
I don't know where the comment originated from but it is total hogwash.
Perv can charges as soon as you click the button, it charges at the beginning of the minute, instead of the end, that's probably what you saw. If there's a connection fee, they are obligated to tell you about it (somewhere on the site)
