Word is a male performer has tested positive in an initial test. Another test needs to be done, so it could still be a false positive at this stage.

When this has happened in the US, the industry has pretty much shut down for several months until the situation has clarified, all potentially affected performers have been notified and tested, and safe re-tests can be done on all other performers (the HIV virus can be dormant for a while, so an initial test may show as negative).

It remains to be seen how the UK industry reacts and responds to this, but the sensible thing would seem to be for all shoots to be suspended until further notice, boy/girl and girl/girl.

this is all over twitter, apparently it isnt a hoax. meetings are taking place to decide what to do. some uk pornstars have apparently already cancelled some shoots whilst a decision is made, could be a shutdoown for at least 3 months

OK, I know we shouldn't laugh because this is potentially serious, but the way it is worded:

Yeah this could have the industry shut down for months. If this one guy does test positive, they'll have to test every girl who's worked with him in God knows how long, which could be a bucketload of girls, and then if any of them test positive then every guy they've worked with will have to be tested and so on, it could go on forever.

Alternatively, he could be clean and it'll all disappear.

Lets hope its a false alarm, or there is going to be lots of grief.

According to Mai Bailey, a name that's going around that is a cause for concern is Jessica Jenson. Never heard of this particular pornstar though. But Mai is saying very publically that anyone that's worked with Ms. Jenson should checked out pretty sharpish.

How recent a certificate do you need to be allowed to work on these sets? Surely this would be caught before he/she worked with many other people.

I was under the impression you needed certs from within the previous 14 days. But I could be wrong.

Its frightening as technically due to the amount of times they should be tested I believe it is monthly they should be safer than the average guy/girl.

Demand however for non condom porn is overwhelming so this will always be an ongoing concern.
