Well it's DEFINITELY not her. There is a Bristol based pornstar called Jessica Jenson that has come forward.

I stand corrected, thanks Robot Devil. And apologies for any offence/distress caused
Do you think they will shut down the porn industry for 6 months or maybe longer, because of this?

Too much money at stake for that. Make cause more stars to do cam shows or solo stuff, but not a total shut down.

The people who profit most from the industry care the least about the welfare of their assets

I don't know what the current requirement is for certs, I seem to vaguely recall it was 3 monthly, but that was long ago, and it may be much less now the industry is better organised and more official here.

Thing is there is this gestation period where you can carry the virus without it showing, so everyone in the industry could get tested today and be negative, but they still need to be tested again later to be certain. I don't recall off-hand what the period is though.
There are also apparently two tests, the standard test for the HIV antibody, which can give false negative and I think has a longer wait period before a second test can be done, and another test for the antigen, which is apparently a better test, it doesn't give false positive, and a second test can be carried out much sooner (I've heard ten days).
I'm certainly no expert though, so take all that with a pinch of salt until/unless verified by a more knowledgable source.

There are still questions of course. The initial warning stated a male star was tested positive, so was that wrong, is this JJ a victim, or the originator, is there also a male infected, separately or via JJ.
Whatever the case, hopefully those involved will recieve the sympathy and support they deserve rather than being witch-hunted.

It is also to be hoped that the industry reacts sensibly and does pretty much shut down until the dust settles and everyone affected has been traced and checked and everyone else cleared, whether that takes a few weeks or a couple months. I think that is the most likely outcome whether the money-makers like it or not. The people involved in the industry are not stupid and will not accept unncecessary risk, it is literally their lives at stake, and also the UK industry overlaps quite a bit with other european countries and even america, and it is likely those other countries will cut the UK off until things are declared safe (some US stars currently here in the UK are already cancelling all work and going home).
There is also the danger that if steps are not taken, the government could step in and impose sanctions and long-term regulation. That was kind of what almost happened in the US when the first outbreak occurred, until the industry stepped up and sorted itself out and more or less headed the government off.
Do people really care about condoms in porn? For pentration I don't really care if I'm watching a guy with a condom on or not. Obviously oral scenes would be a bit worse but is it such a big loss if guys wore condoms for penetration? It wouldn't completely remove the risk of diseases spreading but it's a good start.

Deserve?

Whereas it's very sad someone has contracted an illness that will reduce their life span, but they must have contracted from someone they knew little off..

This would be bad enough, having unprotected sex with a stranger is lunacy in the general public, if your job is to have sex that means you have no thought to any fellow performers and what you may or may not give them, not only is that lunacy but grossly irresponsible.

Any witch hunt starts in places like this where people are being named with absolutely no proof who it is. People named on here might be perfectly well. Rolleyes
Munch makes some very good points.

While the testing is very important, a lot of it is still up in the air, because you don't know whether or not a porn star has just contracted the virus. Someone could have a porn shoot in two days, but could go home with a stranger tonight and contract the virus, so any testing in two days won't even reveal that the person is infected. They will then have unprotected sex with the other actor/actress, and give it to them as well. Scary stuff!

Sad world we live in when there are viruses like this still around and still so contagious. I'm even afraid to go back to a woman's place who I've met out at a club, or met during a get together with some friends, for fear that I might catch something, especially something life threatening. Condoms are pretty full proof if you aren't doing gymnastics during sex or having rough sex, but the fear is still there, which makes dating or having a fling a bit more stressfull. Not everybody is going to ask a sexy woman to get tested, while they are kissing and having feelings for each other.

Hopefully soon there will be a cure, or the medicine will be so good that the virus will be like having a cold. I honestly don't think we are far from these advances, but it's up to the government and drug companies of course. For now, just a very quick and accurate testing kit for immediate infection would be nice, so that if you meet someone, the two of you can do a test together, and it will tell you up to the hour, whether or not someone has been infected. Wishful thinking maybe Smile
