The reason for the lower quality webstream, is because they have reduced the resolution and bandwidth of all the streams.

The old resolution transmitted was 580x326. But the new resolution is only 448x256. Yet they still try and show it at an increased size on their website. Resulting in an extremely blocky picture.

If they are trying to kill off people capping, then they are going the right way about it. It's all well and good trying to save money on bandwidth costs. But if you want to keep customers, then you have to give them something worth watching.

And unfortunately, at present, it's not worth watching.
If you want the higher quality stream, then you have to join their site.
Are they having a laugh?

Sign up for a higher quality stream? What a load of pish. It only costs about £17 to sign up for every 30 days by the way. Totally worth it eh? GTF Bang babes. You may have the best babes on all the channels ( IMO of course), but you have no idea about customer loyalty and whoever came up with this idea better think twice if he/she/they think this is a good way to get rich quick. I'LL NOT BE SIGNING UP TO PAY OVER THE TOP FOR A HIGHER QUALITY STREAM. Why? Because I have much more important things to spend money on than a totally unreliable streaming from a channel I can easily watch on my TV.

Rant over.

No such thing haha... if they are streaming high quality for members makes no difference they are still paying the same amount of money for the bandwidth. I think this is a way to make money and I think it will just back fire. im more than happy to watch it at this resolution even if i dont have sky! I will not sign up!!!! and im sure others will stand by me ! Big Grin
Sometimes it's not a question of the video quality but I think that the stability and the reliability of a webstream are also important. The free version of BB webstream buffered all times which makes me nervous. So after a few minutes I give up and switches to another media.
I had a bad experience with another webstream channel which it was supposed to be in "High definition". Unfortunately, It was simply a kind of bullshit and waste of time. It wasn't enough HD and also I encountered many disconnection because of their server (as they are always claiming). So, I'LL NOT BE SIGNING UP. WinkWink
what has happend to 948 which now 902 on the webstream?
Hi all,
sorry if the change has upset some of ya.

As for the claim about customer loyalty, that is why there is now a feature for the callers to get a higher quality stream whilst they are in the system.

3 out of the 5 streams (2,3,4) have had new machines put in place to allow for H264 encoding on 2 qualities, the LQ is as someone has stipulated before, the HQ is about twice the bitrate of the LQ version, and at a resolution of 640x360 (same dimensions as the player). Remaining stream machines should be replaced next week.

Here are two captures for a comparison (LQ on the left, HQ on the right ... apologies if this slows down the page load).

wow a first tmtv/bm have tried to answer question. whoever you are well done. also another issue is when the webstream goes down it stays down for a long time the first time i was it happen it was down for 17 hours for someone has not got sky and relies on the webstream its simply not good enough.

has 948 moved to another babe channel or renamed to 902?
17 hour outage the other day was due to a happy-go-lucky person kicking a cable out... outage before was due to our internet provider.

The stream numbers on the site aren't always fixed to a specific channel, at least for earlybird and daytime ... been a few things that got updated today is all, but 3rd stream should still be Kimberly.
will you be coming on here to explain when why the streams are down in the future. if so that would be helpful stop all of us from making the comments.

thank you for explanation.
