TNA Impact moves to Wednesday nights starting Aug. 20, 2014

Quote:While the future of TNA on Spike TV remains uncertain, and a new television deal has yet to be revealed, the company announced earlier today that Impact will be moving from its usual Thursday night timeslot to Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET starting Aug. 20, 2014.

From TNA:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 14, 2014) - TNA today announced its flagship program, IMPACT WRESTLING, will make a permanent move to Wednesday nights at 9/8c on SPIKE TV beginning next Wednesday, Aug. 20.

"Moving IMPACT WRESTLING to Wednesday nights gives existing fans and new viewers an opportunity to enjoy both wrestling and live sports even more throughout the week," said TNA President Dixie Carter.

IMPACT WRESTLING has enjoyed sustained ratings growth this summer, drawing over 1.5 million viewers each week this quarter, and is among the most watched cable series in key male demos in its timeslot.
This is an intriguing move for a number of reasons. For starters, why move the show if there is no renewal with Spike TV? Moving Impact away from Thursdays takes away impossible competition from the NFL, which starts its Thursday night schedule in early September, as well as avoids going head-to-head with SmackDown in the event it moves to Thursdays.

This decision is only fueling speculation that that's exactly what WWE and SyFy have decided to do.

Still, as it stands right now, the current TV deal runs out at the end of September and there has been no new announcement of a working relationship past that.

So will impact move to saturday nights here in the uk?

doubt it. think impact will stay sunday night in uk
Why would it move in the UK? It's probably more secure on Challenge than it is on Spike.

I agree with you as TNA the number one wrestling show in the UK.I was just think that the deal with challenges is that impact air 3 nights after the us airing.

So i guess the thursday impact in scotland won't be on challenges the same night now or will it?
think tna will soon be announcing their new tv deal as they have just announced their next tv tapings that will be happening September 16-19 in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. These episodes will be the ones that will air after bound for glory in mid October so I think tna must have a new deal done or about to be done

also think the tna moving to Wednesdays in the us is also a sign that a tv deal is done or about to be done as they are for me thinking long term with this move as in 3 weeks the NFL starts and plays games on a Thursday night and to avoid any clash with wwe if they go ahead with moving smackdown to Thursday night
Without wishing to nick Rammy's act Wink Rockstar Spud's appearance on Snog Marry Avoid (which is where I first saw Lisa "not on WrestleTalk or BWRU any more Sad " Carrodus) was repeated on Really this morning at half 1. The "after" version is how he looks in TNA now anyway Tongue

Major TNA News Bully Ray Finished w/ Company

Quote:PWInsider.com is claiming that former two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray has finished up with the company. His contract expires soon – if it hasn’t already – and TNA was unwilling to give him the kind of deal he was hoping for. Insider’s report states that Bully told the locker room he wasn’t planning on signing a new deal with the company, and that his performance at a recent live event would be his last.

Bully Ray and Devon will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Famer at this year’s Bound for Glory PPV in Japan. Along with being a former world champion and a 3-time tag champion, he has become one of the key main event stars on television over the last few years, and was reportedly a major locker room leader backstage.

Wrestlezone will update this situation as more information becomes available.

KILLAM: If true, this is more bad news for TNA. I understand the contractual issues, as they desperately need to cut costs, and he’s probably at the top of the pay scale with Angle, but they will have lost Bully, Sting, AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Kazarian and a host of other really talented performers in the last year alone. He’s one of the last big names remaining, and in just a few months it’s likely Angle will be leaving as well. Not great news for TNA, who is still trying to find a home on TV past September.

More bad news.annoyed
Hope he moves back to WWE... TNA is slowly on its way out
I hope it's because he's sick of seeing Devon holding him back Tongue Poor bloke did his best, improved his character & his fitness, got to hold the top TNA title, and what does he get? Tommy bloody Dreamer and yet another ECW rehash!

Or he just might fancy jobbing to Roman Reigns, I dunno.
