Weinberg joined the metal legends back in 2014 after replacing Joey Jordison (who imo is probably my choice for the best drummer in the world but as he's not been active for a while then Weinberg is a fantastic choice) - Other names included were Paul Bostaph of Slayer, Ray Luzier of Korn, who took out the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively.
Um, where's Danny Carey ?
Jay Weinberg is great and all but Danny Carey is the best in my opinion
Oh I agree mate, there's plenty of absolutely brilliant drummers out there that weren't on the list but perhaps it was to do with the category, in this case it was a Heavy Metal category and with Danny Carey, it's perhaps an indie/rock category? (not ideal and I'm just guessing here) but still a great drummer though.

Yeah you're possibly right on the category issue, but Slipknot and Tool (most other bands for that matter) encompass many different genres/sub genres of rock/metal/grunge etc so I don't like to pin bands down to 1 or 2 of these genres.
But I take your point Skyline, it's a very valid one.
slipknot in dublin were fuckin awesome. so good that i've got my ticket to knotfest in the m.k bowl in august. if you can, go and see them live. i highly recommend it.

Your a lucky so 'n' so terence , Slipknot are one of my favourite bands and from clips I've seen, they always look immense and highly energetic in the live clips I've viewed online. Obviously nothing compares to actually seeing them live but I hope you had a great time mate and how was Jay Weinberg in the drumming dept. when comparing to the drumming of Joey Jordison? Did he get it spot on when performing some of their earlier tracks? (probably a silly question , but I'm just curious as I'd love to see them live one day).
yeah mate, he has it down. you wouldn't really know the difference. their energy is immense. there's no better front man in music than corey taylor atm, imo.
