Just started watching the first eo of season 1, i was given the first two season on dvd as present so thought i would start watching them and see what the fuss was all about.

I would say that was a good present choice, I hope you agree once you get into it.....

So far after Ep 1 really enjoying it, looks like i have a lot of catching up to do.

Filming had been stopped on series 5 after one of the recent cast actors died suddenly. 86 year old Belfast actor J J Murphy had been given the part of Ser Denys Mallister, the commander of the Night's Watch garrison at Shadow Tower. The part will now be written out of the series.

More problems for the GOT crew.

The HBO show has reportedly been blocked from filming a particular nude scene in the Croatian capital of Dubrovnik.

The local film commission have not given permission for the nude scene to be shot in the capital next to the Dubrovnik Cathedral, as the church has ‘a rigid policy against public displays of sexuality’

But shows bosses ‘can’t cut the scene because it’s crucial to the story line and it’s an iconic moment from the book.’

Dubrovnik town officials are said to have apparently had a change of heart and will allow the shooting a nude Game Of Thrones scene through the city's streets.

Officials have green-lighted the pivotal 'walk of shame' from the Croatian city's famous Church of St. Nicholas through town - but only on the condition that the person does not set foot in the church.

A compromise has been reached, according to the website, because scenic Dubrovnik - which doubles as King's Landing - doesn't want to anger HBO, which has brought jobs to the region.

The church scene will still be filmed, but on a fake set.
