I honestly think it's better. Redgrave had to stay at olympic level for 6 olympics, SIXTEEN YEARS.

If you're the best there is at an event and can be entered for several at any given time, there's no reason baring upsets, accident or illness why you wouldn't win.

People say he didn't do it on his own and kept getting stronger young rowers. what people should realize, rowing is one of the most difficult as a single event, but when you have to have another with you, you have to be in complete synch with them, and there's simply no way a younger rower could 'carry' Redgrave and win golds.
