After seeing the crash in HD & slow motion in this video, its amazing his injuries weren't worse. Suddenly your (since removed) signature doesn't seem quite so apt terence.

That was really terrible! And there just had to be a barbed wire fence, so that one of the guys got a load of lascerations all down his leg. The car driver had been told not to overtake any of the cyclists! Huh
The cuts from the barbed wire were bad, but as skateguy said it could easily have been MUCH worse.
After Cavendish finishing second yesterday in the sprint at the end of the stage there was no repeat today with an emphatic victory in the rain and the green jersey for the points competition as well. He'll want to pick up points on the intermediate sprint tomorrow as the Tour heads into the huge mountains of the Pyrenees - the Tourmalet plus another out of category climb and a first category - will mean he'll be hanging on at the back of the field.
Good that Mark has realised that picking up points along the way in the intermediate sprints and just surviving the mountain stages is the way to win the 'Green Jersey' this year.
Top performance by Thor Hushovd to win the stage from Pau to Lourdes today especially as it featured an hors category climb (Col d'Aubisque). The god of thunder overcame a two minute deficit from the peak of the Pyrenees climb with a spectacular descent to catch Jeremy Roy who at least got the polka dot jersey as a considerabe consolation.

Mark Cavendish holds on to the green jersey and has got a tough final day in the Pyrenees tomorrow to get through before a sprinters stage to Montpellier on Sunday.
Got to agree with you Ree's No.1 Fan. The God of Thunder deserved his best TdF win. You've got to like someone as mad as Thor.

Art today, Phillipe Gilbert riding alongside the referee's car complaining about the sprint.

Lovely colours on the Belgian national jersey. Eh, but the sprint is 1000m a that away. Snigger. Wink
Art today goes to M. Voeckler.

Eff me. He's got the yellow jersey and maybe, maybe, with the help of Anthony Charteau in the Alps he can hang onto it in the Alps.

Whilst the Schlecks, Evans and Contador are all looking at each other they might forget about Thomas.

A top display by Tommy Voeckler who even looked good on the final climb of the day. It will be tough for him to hold on as the Europecar team have done a lot of work fom the grand depart in the Vendee but you've got to admire his attacking style.

Contador looks like he's struggling but the Schleck's didn't quite make the most of their opportunities to take more time out of him and actually get ahead of Cadel Evans who is a better time trialer than both of them. Hopefully it is a relatively easy transition stage tomorrow and Cavendish can protect his lead in the green jersey.
