Yeah think Mark needs 1 or 2 more stage wins now on Tour de France then he is number 1 all time interms of stage wins
I think Eddie Merckx is on 34 stage wins & Cavendish is now on 27 so a bit to go yet Rammy. Bernard Hinault is his next target on 28 wins
Yeah found the all time stage wins after i posted earlier. Think that will be his focus on this tour, to try & get these wins
^ I think he'll be happy if he gets another one in the first week. He'll drop out after that to focus on the Olympics as he really wants a gold medal.
I wouldn't be too sure about Cav pulling out early, he's not the type and he wants the win on the Champs-Elysees.
If he is going out early, then stages 3, 4 & 6 are his best chances in the first week. Stage 2 has a nasty uphill kick at the end and won't really suit the sprinters and Stage 5 has a smattering of Cat 2 + 3 climbs in the last 60K or so...
im waiting for chris froome to come to the fore let the sprinters have their day huh
