An interesting start to the session with the reigning champions playing the perpetual losers.

But the Chiefs were without their star tightend Travis Kelce and the Detroit Lions are a much improved team.

But I never expected such a close match... the winner was (no spoiler)
LET'S GO NINERS
I've just noticed that the ex San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is now playing for the Las Vegas Raiders. Never been so delighted.
^^ I'll miss him. Jimmy G had stats that matched favourably with Montana & Young, but without the Super Bowl Rings. An old-fashioned pocket-passer like Joe Cool, but even less mobile, which contributed to him getting injured, a lot. The niners maybe made him look a little better than he actually was. He was frustrating to watch at times, but gave it all, & more often than not found a way to win ball games.
The Niners finally gave up on Trey Lance who was to be the franchise QB star, a top draft pick who never got a proper chance to prove himself, a smart move maybe by trading him to their former rivals the Cowboys.
By mistake Purdy is now the state & looks mature at such a young age & can only improve.
Jimmy G helped the Raiders in their 17-16 win over the Broncos, including a late scramble for a 1st down.

He was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He was Tom Brady's backup for 4 years, including 2 Super Bowl-winning teams.
Do they give the rings to players who didn't appear in the match?

Another former 49's quarterback Colin Kaepernick is currently a free agent and is desparate to get back playing again. He's even supposedly promised to stand when the anthem is played.
^^ My mistake, I was going to put Super Bowl win, but he does have 2 rings, but didn't take the field in either game. I guess it's like unused subs getting medals in the FA Cup.

The NFL contribute somewhere between $5,000 & $7,000 per ring for up to 150 players & staff. It is up to the individual teams as to how many rings they give away & as they are bespoke, they hand out top tier rings to players & key coaches, with other staff receiving rings with less stones or faux diamonds.
Teams pay for any extra cost above what the NFL contribute, and it is often confidential. It is reported that the 2015 Pats rings were worth $36,500 per ring. In 2017 they won again in a remarkable comeback from 28-3 to defeat the Falcons and celebrated with rings featuring 283 diamonds each.
Rings will sell above their value, depending on the status of the player, the highest reported sale was the 1990 Super Bowl ring awarded to New York Giants Lawrence Taylor which went for $230,401.
Apparently Putin was given a Super Bowl ring to wear in 2005 by Patriots owner Robert, Kraft & he basically stole it.
Tuned into Monday night football on channel 5 last night. To see how Aaron Rodgers managers at the Jets and also to see my favourate TV host Kirtsen Watson (who also has a winners ring for her work as host for former Super Bowl LVI Champions, the Los Angeles Rams)

Kirsten was not on the show and Aaron Rodgers last 5 minutes before limping off with an ankle injury. Sad

Kirtsen also works as a sideline reporter and host for the Los Angeles Dodgers, so may be back on the show when that session finishes.

Aaron could have an achilles injury. His x rays came back negative.
