It's big for the teams who lead each conference.
Both the 49ers and the Ravens not only get perminent home field advantage in the play offs.
They also get a bye week to prepare. And it's also a big advantage in getting their players fit.
Now that San Fran are confirmed as NFC leaders they can rest star running back Christian McCaffery who has a calf strain in their week 18 match and then they have the bye week. It's expected that he will be fit for the playoffs.
It's going to be really tough for an NFC Team to get by the 49ers
I honestly think the team with the best chance to go on the road and beat them is the Rams. They are bitter rivals, and the Rams did win the Super Bowl 2 years ago
In the AFC, lot of loaded teams at the top
I'm hopeful for the Browns in the playoffs of course, they are one of the few teams to beat the Ravens (same with the Steelers and Colts)
It's going to be really tough for them to win 3 games on the road to get to the Super Bowl though
The Bills and Chiefs have elite QBs, which means a lot in the postseason
Lamar Jackson in all likely hood will be the MVP of the league
Still got one more week for teams to sneak into the postseason
^^ I'm really happy that the Niners took care of business last week, with a little help from the faltering Eagles. I have been fearful of the Rams for some time, Stafford was robbed of the Super Bowl MVP by Kupp, he knows how to get the job done. With nothing on the Rams @ 49ers game, some starters will be protected/rested.
I think the loss to the Ravens has taken a little pressure off the Niners. Purdy is allowed & expected to have some bad games. So much focus is on what he can't do & not what his main strength is which is decision making, generally he doesn't hurt his team, he's super efficient. He will draw obvious comparisons to Montana, a pocket passer, that was what Brady did for the most part & it served those 2 well in different eras. I'd say he's more mobile & quicker than both. Very early in his career to say one way or another.
I'm sure that the neutrals will want a Niners Ravens Super Bowl re-match, the big issue is how do you keep Lamar Jackson quiet. It will be interesting to see who the Ravens get in the Playoffs, the Dolphins, Bills, Chiefs & Browns have the tools to compete with the Ravens. The Browns must feel that they've already won the Super Bowl, every win now is a bonus, almost no pressure, despite their quality D, making the Playoffs looked a tall order after going through the depth chart in the QB position & the pick-up of Flacco is a dream result.

No Colts vs Texans game for you guys?
That's a Win or Go Home game
^^ Colts v Texans, I might have to rely on Red Zone, I still haven't recovered from the 10 game early window last week, it felt exhausting.
It is looking likely that Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski is in line for the Coach of the year Award.
DeMico Ryans, Shane Steichen & Dan Campbell are other notable contenders.
