So does that mean then it's a more acceptable form of dismissal at grassroots level than it is say at conty or Test level? and would that make the Mankad the ultimate dismissal sin?
One way or another I would say if Bairstow has tried it three times already then fair play to Carey for giving Bairstow his come uppance on it, It would be interesting not only what the likes of Bob Taylor, Adam Gilchrist and other former Test wicketkeepers make of it, and current ones too. I am sure many will back Carey up. Maybe the onus is on the umpire to call 'over' at the right moment. But tbh how many times have we seen cricketers go out of their crease to attempt a shot and find themselves stranded?
