Lyon is on crutches this morning so all the spin bowling will be done by Steve Smith. But don't forget he started as a spinner who could bat a bit.

Edit: Stokes was out at the start of the day. But at least it was due to good bowling and not down to suicidal batting.
Not so much bazball cricket but kamikaze cricket.
Playing attacking cricket is good and entertaining but when eight of the batsmen get themselves out Huh
England need 371 in their second innings to win the test match.

An injuried Nathan Lyons went out to bat and managed to get 4 runs
Series over.
Bye bye Ashes.
2 or 3 more wickets & the Ausies could claim an extra half an hour to go for the win today.

Both decisions that are the talking points today, the officials got correct! firstly Pope being required to take to the field before batting, and the conclusion of todays play, with the Stark catch being overturned!

Where though has that level of officiating been on the many occasions in recent years, where the same catches were given the green (no pun intended) light?? We can all recount a number of them, so why today some will ask! I would ask, why not all along??

Some finish in store tomorrow - yet again!! Sorry though Kev, it doesn't mean the 'Ashes' 'more important'
Ironic really that the Ink hasn't even dried on the Strauss review. Maybe a good thing that the plans are not due to be implemented for another season - maybe - as there seems to be a review after every ashes defeat (yes an assumption being made there) Perhaps better to hold off and just wait a couple of months for an updated version?? laugh Ok a little sarcasm, but we know how these things go!
The Starc (non) catch was interesting. He cught the ball and then went to the ground where he grounded the ball. Law 33 applies.

Interesting that he was in full control of ball for a good couple of seconds before he grounded the ball.

They allow you to ground the ball if your fingers are under the ball as with the Steve Smith catch in the first innings.
I see that Australia are invoking their win at all cost policy.
