A movie was made in 1967 as a spoof of James Bond. The movie was called OK Connery and starred Sean Connery’s brother Neil.

While under contract to play James Bond, Pierce Brosnan wasn’t allowed to wear a tuxedo in any non-Bond film.

Adam West, Clint Eastwood, and Burt Reynolds were all offered the role of James Bond, and all of them declined, believing that James Bond should always be played by a British Actor.

The producer of the James Bond movies is a woman. She casts Bond, his girls and decides on the stories. Barbara Broccoli has been in the business for 30 years, leading the most successful cinema franchise.

Sean Connery, during the filming of the James Bond film “Never Say Never Again,” was taking martial arts lessons and in the process pissed off his instructor, who in turn broke Connery’s wrist. The instructor was Steven Seagal.

The existence of MI6, the agency with which James Bond works for in the movies, wasn’t officially acknowledged by the British government until 1994.

There are two James Bond movies with the same plot, Never Say Never Again and Thunderball. Sean Connery played James Bond in both films, 18 years apart.

(I didn't know where that came from and to be honest I don't have much of a clue what a meme is) I do know that Richard Dawkins was a friend of the late Douglas Adams who wrote 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' and I once asked Douglas, on a BBC live chat thing where he got the name for one of the characters, Slartibartfast. Sadly a few weeks later he had died, so I felt privileged that he had answered my question.

Bond is fluent in French, Italian, German and Russian, is handy with Greek, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese, and has a degree in Oriental languages. He also knows how to say ‘where is the library’ in English.

Actor Michael Collins ended up voicing all of Goldfinger’s lines, which were then dubbed over Gert Fröbe’s performance, because the German actor, unbeknownst to the film’s producers when they hired him, couldn’t speak English.

Quantum Of Solace is the only film in the series that’s considered to be a direct sequel.

Bond was 38 when he became a 00 agent.

Goldfinger was eventually banned in Israel – it was revealed that Fröbe had been a member of the Nazi party during World War II. The ban was lifted when a Jewish family publicly thanked the actor for protecting them from persecution during the conflict.

Oh yes sorry he said it was a mixture of things including the word fart.

Actor Patrick Allen who appeared in things like UFO and voiced the Barratt Homes adverts was the voice of the "incredibly useful and informative" Protect and Survive manual of the 1970's, which was supposed to tell us what to do in the event of a nuclear war -which turned out to be completely useless. You can hear snippets of it used in the Frankie Goes To Hollywood song 'Two Tribes'
Great BBC weatherman Michael Fish once had a few problems with his magnetic symbols particularly the word FOG. After getting things to basically stick he did his piece to camera but unfortunately the F came off the board but he continued and finally he finished with "well that's all for now, oh and sorry about the F in fog!" Big Grin (read carefully)
