End of the Season

Well that's it. A crazy final day in the Premier League saw some bizarre scorelines, the kind of strangeness we've been seeing at many intervals throughout this season. It has certainly not been a season without event or talking points. You have all played a part in making it an enjoyable season and for that I thank you all. I've enjoyed taking control of it for 2017-2018 and hope I've done it the justice I feel this competition deserves. It's become an important thread / competition on the forums and I hope it continues for a long time to come. Smile

On to a few stats then. Round 38's top scorer was circles_o_o_o with 11 points. No mean feat considering that exact scores proved difficult to come by again, with only 8 achieved throughout the entire round. The record for the season in terms of number of most correct scores in a gameweek stands at 5 and it has been achieved on four occasions.

There have been 17 different players who have been top scorer for a gameweek during the season. Some players have achieved it on multiple occasions. There have been four different players who have been top of the overall standings after a round during the season. I guess all this shows what a fun, competitive season all you guys have made it. Smile

So for the final time then, the tables are below. Results, this week's scores and the overall standings:-

So without further ado, we say congratulations to this season's champion:-

A very deserved winner. A look back through my saved tables confirms that you have held the lead at the top of the league since week 26. That's an impressive 12 straight weeks. You've also smashed the 300 point barrier. Well done to you - if I had a prize, you'd get it. Wink

I've decided to step down now and allow someone else the chance to run it, if there is to be one, in 2018 - 2019. I have enjoyed organizing it but at the same time with me having recently started a new job, I fear my opportunities will be more limited next season. I hope to participate in any competition, but merely in a playing capacity. If anybody wants copies of any tables or results sheets, let me know.

Once again, a big thank you to you all for your contributions throughout the season. Enjoy the summer and hopefully we'll be back in August to do this all again.

All the best,

Reg Smile
