If any football subject needs a thread of its own this is surely the one. The big problem in my eyes is that I don't think the FA have any clue about who would really be the right choice. I have no confidence in their ability to pick the right man.
Mauricio Pochettino

Half the team are Spurs players so we may as well go for the manager as well
Why not Alan Shearer? As he said last night he couldn't do any worse than the last few England managers.
Sam Allardyce. People would moan about style of play, but at least we wouldn't lose to Iceland.
Gareth Southgate is the red hot favourite, which tells you what a shortage of credible candidates there are.
Well Southgate is the last England manager to win an international trophy but they need to get on with it as we play out first World Cup qualifier in September.
I am beginning to wonder if it matters who we have. I think the premier league burn our players out by the time the tournament comes. Everyone thought Capello was going To Take us to the promised land before the 2010 World Cup. Even foreigners who play the premier league seem tired out by the time the tournament comes around though the Belgium players seem to be disproving my theory. I think Southgate would be worth a try.
Harry Redknapp seems to be in favour of Glenn Hoddle being reappointed.
Hoddle knows what he Is doing from a technical point of view but his man management skills are none existent.
FA Conference at 4pm. Roy Hodgson going to get a flogging

Edit: The conference stated that a 3 man committee hopes to get a new manager in place as soon as possible
