Now official. Need to start the next England manager thread up again. Gareth Southgate is taking over in the meantime.
Sam Allardyce has left the England job after only one game in charge and Gareth Southgate will be in charge of England's next four games
Good riddance to Bad rubbish annoyed

Plan all along bladewave
I know people are moaning about Southgate being in temporary charge , but who else you gonna put in charge on short notice .
That must have been the shortest time that an England manager has been in charge.
How about getting Gary Neville to take charge. It would really please big Sam. Big Grin

Exactly
If Sam thinks Woy was boring, then God knows what he makes of Southgate...? Not that a crook like him has any right to have an opinion. He should go to Spain or wherever Venables went to post crooked dealings to ask how many jobs he's had since...?

Sad that a man who spent years putting himself up for the job, & then finally got it by way of being the only credible candidate, then goes and blows it so quickly... What the feck was he thinking even agreeing to sit in on meetings like these..? But then again, maybe his obvious lack of positive ideas or smiles at his first England press conference told a bigger tale than any of us could see back then....
I guess Southgate will be given ample time to juggle his responsibilities to both the U-21's and Senior Squads. I reckon if there is manager with the right style of play for England then it is possibly Alan Pardew but more than anything I totally agree with what Shearer said it's possibly a poisoned chalice now that surrounds the England job, and somehow the press need to back down from whoever is appointed next from hounding anyone out of the job. I hope Big Sam does find another management job but not in England
I do believe that Don Revie was the next shortest England manager after Sam leaving though If I recall he resigned (or was sacked) after he was caught by the press trying to set up a management post or something in Saudi Arabia. I think that was when Ron Greenwood took over. The other thing is how long will it be before sponsors start puling out of sponsoring the England team? There must be some concerns with their current sponsors if they read the papers about continuing sponsorship and could you blame them?

I'm pretty sure that Don Revie was the next shortest
