Here is the 26 man England squad named by Roy Hodgson for Euro 2016. He has until 31 May to exclude 3 players to bring it down to 23.

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, Fraser Forster, Tom Heaton.

Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne, Kyle Walker, Gary Cahill, Chris Smalling, John Stones, Ryan Bertrand, Danny Rose.

Midfielders: Dele Alli, Ross Barkley, Fabian Delph, Eric Dier, Danny Drinkwater, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend, Jack Wilshere.

Strikers: Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge, Jamie Vardy.
Rashford and no Andy Carrol.

So there's no option B Sad
I don't think Rashford will make the cut anyway, although maybe if he scores in the friendlies....

Assuming no injury issues, who will be cut from the 26? I say Townsend, Delph and Rashford.
I think Hodgson's made some big mistakes.

Delph for me should be nowhere near the squad. Total waste of time and money for Man City this season. He's hardly had a game and been injured for a lot of it. I think he should be the first one cut out. Then I think it's too soon for Rashford although he is obviously very talented. Then Townsend probably will be the third one missing out.

So while it may seem clear who the three excluded are, I think Hodgson's given himself some problems with the forwards and the defenders. A lot of the forwards have the same qualities, so there doesn't seem many options to change something if we're 2-0 down against Russia in the first game. There are players in good form who deserved a place. So that raises the question of why select Rashford, when in all likelihood Hodsgon will not take him after he admitted it's too soon for him. So that leaves us short up front especially as there's a chance Rooney will be playing a deeper or advanced midfield role. And there's a big lack of tournament experience in defence.

Not very happy I'm afraid. Sad
Roy obviously does not like WESTHAM players. Statistically Noble has had a better season than Drinkwater I have been told yet not even in the list.

I would have thought Cresswell and Carroll would be worth a try as well.
I've just realized that there's still doubts over Wilshere and Henderson's fitness isn't there? I mean if they're fit then fair enough I would have taken them too, but if they're not, will that open the door for Noble, Mason and Walcott or is he still going to overlook them?

Delph... really??!!! Fuck's sake.. Sad
Get rid of Rashford as it's much too soon for him plus two from Delph , Wiltshire & Stirling , For me I'd take Wiltshire .

Obviously not. The squad of 23 will be selected from the 26 players already named.

Maybe if west ham fans would stop going on about them winning the world cup for england in 66 might be a few more picked Big LaughBig LaughBig Laugh

The other way at looking it is of course that maybe if The england football managers took the hint that you have to have three westHam players in your team to have any chance of winning a major championship than England might actually win something. As usual Us westham fans have been way to bleeding subtleBig Laugh

I don't see Roy playing Vardy, Rooney and Kane together. I think Rooney will start and either Kane or Vardy will start from the bench. Nothing new in that small minded thinking. Taylor rejected any possibility of Gascoigne, Hoddle, Waddle and Barnes ever playing together and way before that Walter Winterbottom was reluctant to play Matthews and Finney together thinking they were too similar. England managers always seem to insist on having a donkey playing ahead of a world class talent. Taylor had Batty and Palmer, Roy has Welbeck and now Delph in his absence.
