Sport ingeneral has always looked for ways to get faster, jump further, higher etc. You can really stop him from going to the gym. There's a skill in how he goes about it, just a different skill to most, but when you hit in 350+ he only needs driver, wedge & putter, he doesn't need the skill of hitting a mid or long iron or fairway wood as much as many others, which is part of what makes the game diverse & interesting. One area that I would punish him would be his putting grip, one or 2 others use the shaft up the forearm technique & it's another form of anchoring which they banned with the long putters. A least Augusta bans the use of greens books which is time wasting & not in the spirit of the game, Bryson spends far to long pratting about on the greens.

I would imagine that makes bryson something of a perfectionist
Doubt they’d do anything for one player but a few more bunkers to reduce the length of his drives could be helpful.
I'll admit it is an interesting angle that he has approached the game from, but I often wonder if carrying extra weight will possibly affects his swing to a degree .
^^ Sure has, he didn't have a textbook swing before he bulked up, so far he's gained 20 yards in driving distance in each of the last 2 years. A 40 yard gain is unprecedented. He chose to not go with the 48 inch driver shaft which is quite hard to control, but that would add even more yards, coupled with around 5 degrees loft, this is the type of equipment that the long driving champions are using. It still requires good technique to use this gear.
I never knew Augusta banned greens books before now
DJ, JT, Cameron Smith & Abraham Ancer are joint leaders at -9. Casey still at -7,level par early in his 2nd round.
Fleetwood, Rose & Willet have made up some ground on the field, both in the clubhouse on -7.
When Tiger was at his peak it was often said that Augusta was a par 68, & not 72 as all the par 5s are relatively short. Bryson claimed that it was a 67 for him, with a drivable par 4. So he was estimating -20 for the tournament, which would beat Tigers -18 record.
Halfway cut predicted at even par, Bryson has work to do at +1 after 9 holes.

Surprised you don't cut to the chase and suggest putting itching powder down his trousers Rolleyes
Langer has become the oldest player at 63, to make the Masters cut. the 2 times winner is playing in his 37th Masters.
The great man has spoken, commentating legend Peter Allis said last night that you can't change the game for one or two players, & of course he's right.
