I would say at worst it was similar to the Paolo Di Canio push on a referee which resulted in an 11 match ban. The 6 months seems harsh and understandably Corinthians are appealing aginst the verdict.
Generally speaking most countries football authorities take a far more serious view of pushing or hitting a referee than they would if it was another player.
The bans coming to an end. And he can't wait to get his teeth into the the La Lige defenders when he's eligable to play in 10 days time.
