re Lisa : oh dear, oh deary dear, oh deary deary dear!!

re Alex's passengers : is it the remoteness of the community that turns them like that, or do they choose to seclude themselves from society because they are already like that?
Ice Road Chainsaw Massacre - has a certain ring to it laugh
the polar bear got the tin tack...!!! never saw that coming... (sarcasm)////.....!! lol. Waiting to collect his three grand for the run, but had done more than that in damage to the trailer....ha ha. muppet... no wonder all the vids on him have him saying he dont watch the show; why would he want to...?? i'll bet even alex is struggling to laugh now.... though he'll give it a go....

... oh, and lisa, stop whining... i dont like you when you whine all the damn friggin time..!!!

I agree. You made a mistake, you take a little slap, quit crying, get back in the truck and start over, show them again that you really can do this.

Maya did a pretty epic run through that snow storm, on her first solo trip. Lot's of the regulars tucked up in the truck stop, and she just kept going. Maybe that was stupid, but she made it through OK. Should do her confidence some good.

Hugh and Rick are just hilarious, smashing everything up and blaming everyone and everything else, yet everyone else manages to get through in one piece. Pair of clowns Smile

Dave isn't far behind, moan moan moan, whinge whinge whinge!!! Oops, forgot to check my trailer was hooked up properly, nevermind, not like you're being filmed on national tv or anything Bounce

I liked the bit with Tony with his truck full of explosives tippy-toeing through the blizzard, and turning to the camera woman. "Do you wanna put that down a minute and help me out here?". Yeah, that might be preferable to running off the road and potentially blowing up laugh
Yeah, thought Lisa was made of sterner stuff. Maybe Tony should have kept his mouth shut at the start instead of building her hopes up so much.

Maya was impressive driving through the storm, one in the eye for the twats who think she's just the eye-candy.

Hugh was hilarious when he got the sack. Jumped into the pick-up and floored the accelerator, intending to roar away out of the yard. Except the yard was covered in snow, bit like trying to slam a revolving door Bounce

Dave's trailer falling off, after several minutes ranting about people not doing their job properly Bounce

It had a bit of a flat start but this series has really picked up now Smile

She's been working very hard for 5 years to be an heavy hauler, this show is secondary to her and is edited(she's refused to do season 6). If you just think you have screwed up 5 years of your life in an instance you would be gutted, it's not like she was hysterical or anything. Shesh, women cry at a drop of an hat for no apparent reason at all, and don't get me started on those noobs that cry hysterically becasue they didn't get fame and fortune for doing jack shit on x factor. annoyed

Eye-candy? ooookay, if you say so. Now I'm going to have to watch this again, I didn't think she did it solo, the tranier was with her and i thought he took over breifly, might be confusing episodes. I don't think she did it solo yet.

Other than that hugh shrugging and saying 'way it goes' when it was his fault shows what arrogant scum he is, him and his grilfriend are brother chip. Still long may he keep going like that, if it wasn't for the program no one would employ him.

I was reading the filming company does deals with the haulier firms to employ people they think are good for tv. I believe that Lisa would not have gotten the job after the first year without their imput. But she went on to prove herself.

No, you're confusing it, this was her first solo run, the second load she was actually accredited with in the load race. You may be confusing it with the first load she earned where she did have the trainer with her still.

I wondered about whether the tv bods had some influence in getting them work, figured Hugh might be finding it tough by now once people see how he drives, unless he had some 'assistance' laugh
So ok, i did mix my episodes. I downloaded these episodes last year and flicked through them week or two back. So I know what you was talking about but had the previous episdoe in my mind. Blush

IF she did go through that whiteout then she did do well (dispite i like myself I'm better than I think attitude).

BUT, being cynical, it's hard to see how Dave turned round (25 years experiance), Lisa didn't go (5 years experiacne on the ice road) The one with the explosives was struggling, even needing help from the camera woman, yet she breezes through it on her first run. Why would they let someone go through that on their first run fully knowing the weather conditions ahead? bladewave

And that's something else, there seems to be pilot cars behind and in front a lot of the time, as well as a camera man/women in the cab with them, so they are not entirely on their own, at least during the filming, the company wouldn't put their employees in that much danger.

I think this program is probably an illusion of editing. Wink

Still good though. Tongue
of course it's edited to make it look far more dangerous than it really is... do you think the production company would even get the insurance to make the show if it was as dangerous as it's made to look...?? would you sit in the cab with half those idiots if it wasn't for it only being the editing that makes it look that bad...??

they try to do it with eddie stobart, but sadly, being made to drive down a narrow country lane and cross an old bridge isn't quite so dramatic... though they try to make it look so...... "oh dear, he can't back up into the yard cause there's another truck unloading, he'll have to go around the block again" doesn't quite have the same sting as "if he turns too far left he'll fall through the ice and drown"............ still love to watch them both though; as you gotta have something to giggle at that's more fun than boring talent shows and annoying adverts.......

What i was saying is, I don't think she was driving through that white out at all, reasons:

They fully know how bad it was going to be weather wise, would the company REALLY send a rookie on her first solo trip right into that?

The shots of her rig making it's way through the storm was from a distance and you could not actually see who was driving, let alone it seem to be ok to get out and film.

Shots of her in the cabin, the windows where steamed up and you couldn't really see out side.

When she finnished her journey and was seeing to the load, it was perfectly clear weather beyound her, even though moments before on entering prudo bay it was blizzard white out.

It just seemed a bit heroic to me.

Don't get me wrong, she does well to drive those big rigs on those roads in any weather. There's no radio or satalite comunication for 500 miles, other than the CB radios you really are isolated.
I AM NOT OBSESSED! annoyed

Maybe a little Big Grin
