This all seems daft and a stupid place to hold the wc anyway... Obviously fifa have been paid off.. What do u guys think?

Why is it a stupid place to host the WC?

Why not host the Winter Olympics in Mozambique in mid summer?

What a ridiculous statement.

1) As I've said above, Qatar in June isn't that hotter than some regions in Brazil.

2) I don't know for sure, but I think Winter sports aren't that popular in Mozambique Tongue Football is the most popular sport in Qatar and the Middle East region.

3) Qatar already has some of the infrastructure in place and is more than capable of getting the rest done (economically speaking) and on time-unlike the Brazil fiasco we're seeing.

So its slightly hotter than Manaus and Fortaleza? Not a good enough reason IMO especially considering the technology that will be used to keep the stadiums and surrounding areas cool.
despite the humidity in brazil the temps are normally about 30c, in Qatar potentially temps can reach 45c with baking hot sun all day long, in brazil it rains sometimes

its 1am in doha qatar and its still 32c although humidity is only 38%

Manaus in June: 31 C
Fortaleza in June : 24 C
Doha Qatar in June: 42 C

Slightly hotter? Huh
42 if you're in the desert....mid to low 30s where AC is used to cool entire neighbourhoods.
as simple as that, and i used to think the weather was uncontrollable
You forget to mention these "neighborhoods" are just huge tower blocks where every room has air con not outdoor streets, air con outside does not work as far as i know....., and I do know it dries the air out so not only would it still be too hot to play football the air would be dry, End of the day this debate is stupid about air con in a football thread and should't even exist as Qatar should never have been awarded it.

The whole world knew something was up when they were awarded the WC and now it's all being revealed..

End of the day, Stupid decision, Dangerous health risk on the athletes, not exactly a place tourists would want to go for a holiday, the bid was for a SUMMER world cup, nothing in their bid stated that it was to be held in WINTER...

A country that applied for a SUMMER world cup should have been awarded it... They need to do the right thing and re vote as soon as it is revealed officially Qatar cheated in winning the bid..
Its completely controllable as long as its not too windy or it doesn't snow/rain. In most gulf countries they use AC inside and outside and these mist sprayers that spray water high into the air, by the time it reaches people its a cold cooling mist. I'm assuming thats what they're going to use, there's 8 years left and this is one of the most richest countries on the planet, pretty sure they're going to come up with better solutions given the time they have.

This is one alternative they've been trying out.

If its proven that Qatar has indeed bribed FIFA, then the US should host the WC.

What do you call very early in the morning? The knock out matches according to Australia's 2022 bid would have been mostly 8:00 and 12:00 our time and sometimes 10:00 and 14.00. Admittedly some of the group matches would have been 4:00 and 6:00 but from memory it was only 10 matches out of the 48 group matches which would have been that early.
The problem with Australia is that their bid for 2022 is also being investigated for possible corruption. I say give it to the US. After all it was Bill Clinton who first claimed that Qatar were guilty of buying the World Cup.
