The reason I say this is I've been a massive fan of Queen for years now and own every single video, cd and DVD that's ever been released and spend practically hours on end on youtube looking for unseen footage of the greatest band of all time in my opinion. Even going back to Live Aid 1985 Queen stormed the stage and blew every other band away that day and made the rest look like pub bands including U2 and the WHO. Your thoughts please.
depends what you mean by "the greatest band of all time"?

u2, who, ac/dc (in their 50's or 60's still touring and releasing stuff), beatles to name 4.

queen would be in the top 10 of greatest bands of all time. the songs were written for freddy and no one else even paul rodgers struggles to sing them.
not my favorite of all time but they wouldn't be to far away. they had everything you look for in a band, charismatic lead singer, tallented band, great song writing and they were brilliant live. truly great!
No.
I'm not sure it can be stated that any band is the greatest of all time - too many variables. They're certainly one of the greatest and enduring bands though - with their music covering two and a half decades, barely a poor album in that time. And they're definitely one of the most diverse rock bands there's been, successfully combining rock, heavy rock and a pompous operatic style of music.
i am rusty legrand. according to noel gallagher, queen doesn't even make the top 10 greatest bands ever.

here's noel's list:

1: The Beatles
2: The Rolling Stones
3: The Who
4: Sex Pistols
5: The Kinks
6: The La's
7: Pink Floyd
8: The Bee Gees
9: The Specials
10: (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac
They were a great band but its a matter of personal opinion who the greatest band are, most bands probably wouldnt exist without The Beatles I think
I'd say they're definitely the best "singles" band of all time, pretty much everyone can name at least one Queen song that they like, and not many bands can say that. Their albums have a few too many filler songs for me though.

But any band that has this song to their credit has to be in the running for the best of all time Cool

Unfortunately I was only 8 years old when Queen did their last ever tour culminating on the 9th August 1986 at Knebworth Park in front of 120,000 fans the last ever concert with the legendary Freddie Mercury at the helm and make no mistake about it Queen were on the verge at that point of being the Worlds greatest and that is no understatement, every concert on that last tour was at football stadiums throughout Europe and each and every one of them a sell out as tickets were like gold dust at the time including Wembley Stadium 2 night's running. I hear today's rock bands and in my opinion are not a patch on Queen in their glory days and it makes me sad to think we will probably never ever see another band quite like Queen. Who else could write with such versatility incorporating every single genre of music. Masterpieces such as Bohemian Rhapsody will never be repeated as well as the anthem type numbers such as Radio Ga Ga, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions to round off a show. The 1992 Freddie Mercury concert also proved what a loss the world would be with the genius of Freddie and Queen when it was broadcast to 36 countries live via satellite around the world to an estimated 36 million viewer's with major acts such as Metallica and Guns n Roses all paying tribute so ask yourself again if Queen were infact the World greatest band that's ever lived.
in short NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
