No, definitely not. The Beatles, Abba and Led Zeppelin have all sold more records, and possibly The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and AC/DC have sold more as well.
No..Sorry
I have always found them completely over rated, yeah they had a few good songs but death was a bit of a career move which seemed to make everyone think Freddie and Queen were the greatest thing in the world on the back of rereleasing bohemian rhapsody
Sorry to be sacrilegious but I thought the Village People had better tunes than Queen.
No

To be objective and leaving aside peples diesire to be trendy, the best bands (you have ot leave Bowie out becasue he's not a band) for volume and quality of music are:

1 - Beatles
2 - ABBA
3 - Rolling Stones
4 - Beach Boys
5 - Led Zepplin
6 - Bee Gees
7 - Queen
No.

Without doubt Led Zeppelin were the best band ever.
They were good, and Freddie Mercury is one of history's all time great entertainers, but for me that doesn't make them the best of all time.

As for personal choice for me its Metallica. I do also very much like Oasis' songs, even if the Gallagher brothers can be arse-holes at times.
No way

Yeah I'm sure, I'd love to see the Village people even attempt to write songs such as complex as Bohemian Rhapsody, Innuendo or I Want It All, The Village People were nothing more than a band for the poofs unlike Queen who reached a much more broad audience. Furthermore Queen was about 4 individuals who equally brought something different to the band, also to note Queen are the only band to my knowledge in which all 4 members have penned a no 1 hit, not even the Beatles could achieve that feat.
maybe
I have them ranked 53rd in my top 100 British groups, in-between Throbbing Gristle and Mud.
