Until someone throws a spanner in the works this cannot be good for the game. In an ideal world I'd like Aston Villa to win it as the have predominantly more English players than the others and this would benefit the game more but I know that this is not going to happen at least for the moment. If none of Martin o'Neill's players are tempted to united or Chelsea because Liverpool won the title then it might happen sooner rather than later. Until the monopoly is broken the top foreign players will mainly go to us and chelsea because they are guaranteed more wages, more medals and champions league football. Yes there will be players who will go to Manchester City for the money that they are undoubtedly able to pay but even if city can turn their present debacle around it's going to take a couple of seasons to have any impact. Man utd and liverpool hate each other because they know that either can beat the other - if they are honest neither set of fans can say the other team is rubbish. Why would I for instance want to see Liverpool relegated - imagine a season without United v Liverpool - I'd rather not.

Sorry, I still find it totally unbelievable that any sort of United fan would hope that Liverpool win the title, especially during a season when a league win would allow us to equal Liverpool's record. I've actually asked a few mates about this as well and the unanimous consensus is that you are on a wind up.
Yes he is, but he's our c unt Smile

Bellamy is a c unt.

Big Grin I'm a Liverpool fan and no way would a true Man U fan want us to win the title.
Have to echo A Spider Monkey on Liverpool winning the league title. I'm a Man Utd fan myself and as I made clear at the start of the thread I honestly think this might be the scouser's year, but do I want them to win it? Do I buggeryBig Grin What the head thinks most likely and what the heart wants to see are two entirely different things.
surely if you're a fan of any team then you'd want them to win everything they possibly can, not hoping for your deadliest rivals to win instead
well yes you would want that otherwise your not a true supporter
In the late 70's and 80's when Rangers and celtic did not dominate scottish football to the extent that they do now and occasionally aberdeen, hibs, dundee united would be thrown into the mix then Scotland qualified for every world cup finals. At this same time Liverpool dominated English Football and England failed to qualify for anything between 72 and 1980. We've just had England fail to qualify for a European Championship which, with the players available we should have walked away with. Look at the bigger picture!
valid point it good to see people remember how good the scotish league was before the domination by the big two and england should have at least qualified for euro 2008 win it we'll never know at least with capello we have a coach that might win us the world cup

Okay.... Not meaning to sound disrespectful here but..... I would bet my left testicle that England will not win the World Cup! On the other hand, with the group they were dealt in the Euro's they should have walked into the tournament. I believe out of all the home nations, Scotland were the team who truly deserved to qualify. How can you beat France home and away and still go home empty handed? We weren't given any help either. You know who you are!

FUCKING BASTARD SPANISH REFEREE!!!!!!!
