could you say now that McIlroy is better than what Tiger was at McIlroy's age?
It was a stirring fightback under pressure from McIlroy.
This is the first major where he has really had to fight for it and scrap it out against the big guns with only a very slender lead going into the final round.
I rate it as his best win because of that.
He was posed some difficult questions and came up with the answers.
A very fine performance indeed.

Only if I wanted to mock Tiger's disciples Tongue
Justin Thomas won this last night, rather than people we might have heard of like Matsuyama, Oosthuizen, Molinari or Fowler. But well done all the same.
This years US PGA Championship starts later today at BethPage Black golf course in New York.
Some of the rough looks pretty penal so straight drives off the tee are going to be important I suspect.
If I remember rightly, wasn't the USPGA (UNLESS I am mistaken in my thinking, and it was another tournament) traditionally the last Major tournament of the US Tour season or not?

Yes, but they brought it forward so that the Open could be last. The 4 majors are now in consecutive months.
Brooks Koepka showed playing partner Tiger Woods what talent is with a peerless opening round to take the 1st day lead, whilst Woods finished 2 over as did McIlroy.
Koepka romping away from the field.
A round of 65 taking him to -12 overall.
Way clear of anyone else.
Looking ominous to impossible for the rest of the field.
Woods missed the cut. So much for his revival, then.

Spieth and Scott are closest challengers to Koepka.
