When he says "She just hung up on me" he probably means she hung up on him abruptly without so much as a by-your-leave, not that she hung up on him five minutes ago.
I'm explaining this politely beacause I have just partaken of some excellent ale and am feeling "well refreshed and convivial".
What he fails to mention is at what point the call cut off...They now cut off after 20 minutes!
