hi Louise, welcome back

there are only 6 games this weekend because of the FA Cup semi-finals. i only started recently so this will be my first time competing against you! since you said you're out of touch, i thought i'd give you an update as to what's been happening in the game:

- Liverpool and Everton will be ground-sharing a new stadium in Stanley Park (like AC & Inter Milan share the San Siro).
- Glenn Hoddle thinks he could manage England at this summer's European Championships. no-one else does.
- Arsene Wenger has stated that he believes Arsenal can win the Premier League next season - they just need to finalise the sales of van Persie & Szczesny in order to complete the rebuilding process.
- Carlos Tevez has decided he will become player/manager at Manchester City but has agreed to allow Roberto Mancini to remain as his assistant (on a trial basis).
- Mancini believes that City can still win the title this season as long as it remains unmathematically impossible NOT to win the title unless of course they beat United in which case the reverse will be true if United don't get less points than them which is impossible, but could still happen if in fact it doesn't.
- Ashley Young collapsed after shaking the referees hand before kick-off in Manchester United's last game. it was touch and go, but Young was able to continue with the game - the referee however, was suspended for 3 matches. the ban was increased to 6 matches after video evidence proved that the referee repeated the offence when helping Young to his feet. Young then passed out for another 5 minutes.

and finally.....

- Mario Balotelli's application for planning permission to build a rope-swing inside the Etihad Stadium was rejected by Manchester City Council. Mario informed Brussels Sprout Curatorial Magazine that he intends to appeal as soon as he has finished photographing every pigeon in Manchester.
