I thought the Jazz planets thing wasn't particularly in the same league as Holst's own.

Nowhere near as good as the original, but the whole point of this was to re-imagine whether Duke Ellington would have done this(as he had done with the Nutcracker Suite) justice but I much prefer the original by Holst.

Just to mark your cards at 7pm tonight on Classic FM there will be a live 3 hr concert of the music of John Williams(he was due to conduct his musical hits with the London Symphony Orchestra) but is ill and had to pull out, but he is here in London and insisted it go on without him although he has said he will be listening. You can listen on 100-102FM from 7pm tonight, should be really good, playing all his well-known hits from the films.
