Yes the Scottish Government publishes the figure on a quarterly basis.

The 'Brexit' timescale is the determining factor; if Scotland is still a member of the UK when the UK leaves the EU, Scotland would likely have to apply to 'rejoin' the EU, conversely, the theory is that if Scotland votes for independence before the UK leaves the EU, Scotland would, in effect, inherit the UK's membership (it would be the remainder of the UK ('rUK') that leaves the EU), thus with the same terms and conditions that the UK currently 'enjoys' (e.g. not a member of the Euro, Schengen etc.).

Net contribution last year was 1.5 Billion with just over 1.1 billion coming back so net contribution was about 337 million. It will be higher under Independence due to the loss of share of UK rebate

The main purpose of SNP has always been their clamour for an 'Independent Scotland' & so even if the the UK get to keep the best bits of the EU in the final deal or if Brexit gets scrapped altogether Scotland would still want Independence at some point all be it a little later than their proposed threat of one.And so I honestly believe Sturgeon & the rest of the SNP ragtag ideally want to stop Brexit & if they succeed then call for Independence regardless.

On the news last night one of NATO's spokesman said that should Scotland become Independent then they would automatically leave NATO & would have to reapply to rejoin NATO (should they meet the criteria) & so I would also assume the same logic apply to EU membership if Scotland leave the UK before Article 50 is completed.And should Scotland have to apply for EU membership acceptance wouldn't be straight away as there are other countries ahead of them in the queue ie Ukraine,Turkey,part of Spain (who's name escapes me) etc.

And regarding the Economics argument Scotland exports 5X more in goods to the rest of the UK than it does to the EU as well as the reliance on the depleting North Sea Oil revenue.

A few political journalists mentioned yesterday that if/when there is a 2nd Independence Vote & should the vote be the same as before 'remain part of the UK' there is never a third bite of the cherry (in this lifetime).

Interbreeding or not, if someone is Scotish, born in Scotland etc but live in england, of which there are very many, then if Scotland left, the same imigration laws will apply to them as anybody else from the EU.

Sadly for extremists like you, I very much doubt that.

Scots living in rUK on the day of independance (if it ever comes) will already be UK citizens holding UK passports. I further doubt there would be any appetite in the UK Government (no matter what threats they might make prior to the vote) to revoke the UK citizenship of all Scots permanently resident in rUK on the day of independence.

My brother lives in England, is married to an English girl, and they have 3 kids. Just out of interest, what would your policy be there? Deport them all? Or just him?
