RE: Last film you watched
The Leopard (1963) directed by Luchino Visconti, the tale of a Sicilian aristocratic family against the background of the Italian Revolution. A long haul at just over three hours, so I watched it in two parts, but worth it. Attractively filmed, picking out the beauty and the decay of the aristocratic homes, and also the poverty of the village. The crowd scenes and battles are well directed too. Starring Burt Lancaster,Claudia Cardinale and Alain Delon. 7.5/10

If you don't like it, you can always feast your eyes on the lovely 25 year old Miss Cardinale.

the henry fonda film was excellent. 12 angry men is perfect for film and tv, yopu can use the money to get great actors has you only need 3or4 sets, 1 the jury room, 1 jury toilet, the courtroom and the outside scene where the crime took place in flashback.

Laserblast(1978)

A troubled teenager finds an alien weapon and goes on the rampage. The alien owner returns to earth to take it back. Not much else to write about this Michael Rae directed forgotten sci fi effort. It's really only notable for the impressive, stop motion alien sequences by animator David W Allen.

Sinister (2012) A true crime writer faces supernatural beings while investigating an historical serial killer case in his new house. At times implausible, but sometimes intriguing, I found it didn't work due to mixing a mystery and a ghost story. Starring Ethan Hawke and Juliet Rylance. 5/10

King Kong(1976)

Sam Goldwyn once said "If they loved it once, they'll love it twice." How wrong he was he was about this Dino De Laurentiis produced remake.Too ambitious for it's own good, make up effects supremo Rick Baker played the ape in a suit most of the time due to the full sized,40ft version not working properly(it was only used in 4 quick shots).Baker found his ideas constantly shot down by Carlo Rombaldi and De Laurentiis.Jessica Lange makes her debut but flounders in a feminst version of the role made famous by Fay Wray.Ultimately,it's all very disappointing.

The World's End(2013) I'm not necessarily an officanado of The Cornetto Trilogy but I reckon this is the pick of them. Full of one liners which I am assume are already being quoted. Beautifully filmed too. Starring Simon Pegg,Nick Frost,Paddy Considine,Eddie Marsan,Martin Freeman and Rosamund Pike 7.5/10

Melinda And Melinda (2004) directed by Woody Allen, two tales, one comic, one dramatic,of Melinda, played by Radha Mitchell. Quite witty, though both probably lean towards drama,Mitchell is excellent in both roles,Will Ferrell gets the funniest lines, and is very good. Also starring Chloe Sevigny,Jonny Lee Miller,Steve Carell,Chiwetel Ejiofor and Wallace Shawn 7/10
