would you believe, I posted last message, went back to Morgan & link opened, let me have a download slot (almost 1pm too!), counted down and then gave error 'Session has Expired'...so tried again and now it tells me 'Already Downloading'......grrrrrr

Something weird with rapidshare at present. Just tried to upload a 12MB file to my free collectors account. It said file contains no data and froze on me. I tried to reload but could not. I closed the tab down and tried to access rapidshare again and could not.
I then openned the history window and clicked on rapidshare. I was back in my account. I checked with the task manager that nothing was being uploaded on the network and tried to upload again. It started this time but got the following info displayed,

indicating that the file would take 6 months to upload.
Checking the task manager, showed that I was actually getting my normal maximum 60KB/sec upload speed and the file was uploaded ok within a few minutes.
Logged out ok.

I've been having problems getting rapidshare links to open recently, even the homepage from google but found this excellent bit of advice on a cable forum (thanks to orig poster Improvised) - been trying to get HP's Paige vids all night then this worked 1st time;

What you simply do if you are having connection issues like I do, Rapidshare always comes up with "Internal Server Error 500" for me or it times out so what I do is this,

You simply type the first part of the code like this: http://rs240.rapidshare.com/files/

after /files/ you put the rest of your code to your file usually numbers forward slash then another series of numbers or letters or a combination thereof.

This is simply a direct way of getting to the file you want without going through the website and clicking free user or premium user. This work around has been working for me and I hope it helps you.[QUOTE]

Hi folks, been a member for a while now but never posted.

As so many of the vids are uploaded to rapidshare, has anyone actually paid for membership and if so is it worth it?

So Rapidshare just decide to throw their Beta on us with no prior warning!

1st. The upload doesn't work on it as yet.....handy that I thought!

2nd. I have to use the old upload method, so I upload the vid then it kindly tells me after the uppload that I have reached my storage limit and suggested that I delete some files to make room for more.....so I just wated 1 1/2 hours uploading for nothing....I proceeded to delete some files and once I had deleted what I thought were a reasonable amount and more than just a tad pissed off I uploaded the same file again!

3rd. The upload finishes at last and has taken almost 3 hours to upload....then I get the same fucking message about storage ..........after swearing lots and comparing rapidshare owners to a bunch of a certain female body part I then look in the settings and at the very bottom is a tiny drop down box called Settings For Storage Limit with three options in it.....it automatically selected the do not save my files when storage limit is full..................you have to select....Save files even if account is full-please note our inactivity rule.

The inactivity rule was how it used to work and I was fine with that, why they had to change the fucker I will never know.....if fuckers are gonna change shit then let us fucking know!

Just make sure if your account is full you select the option I mentioned!


4th. I go so pissed off I started uploading it straight to HF so now I have to wait even longer for the rapidshare links as remote uploading from HF never seems to work for me!

Aye, Rapidshire made a cock of this one and no mistake Blue! Four files uploading quite nicely (apparently), only to disappear for no apparent reason. I'm not making another attempt tonight, that's for God damn sure!

Isn't the normal way for a company introducing a beta application to tell you they've released it, then offer the user the opportunity to test it if they want to? I didn't even notice the link back to their original app until I'd wasted my time on their shit beta!

Reminds me of Yahoo's recent and unannounced changed to their mobile app, which actually changed in mid-use without any warning. Fucktards!

Certainly sounds a bit crap that you've both lost your uploads, and thanks for the info on the settings for storage limit. By the way, RS beta has been present on their homepage for the last 2 months or more - and aside from this issue you've encountered, it has some good features, such as being able to rename files once they've been uploaded.
