I think it's the only decision the FA could have made. After all, the FA couldn't be confident that Nani wouldn't have injured by Kompany's challenge if Nani hadn't jumped out of the way. Therefore the red card had to stand.

Firstly I can understand why the referee sent Kompany off on Sunday,as it could have been deemed a two footed tackle and by the letter of the law he therefore has to be sent off. However,the law also states that the player has to be out of control whilst making the challenge,something that Vinnie certainly wasn't.

I personally think he makes a lot of sense in what he says and I fear for the nature of the game if the governing bodies start to make decisions based on what could have happened,I'm pretty certain that any sliding tackle has the chance of injuring an opponent,therefore surely it's just a matter of time before "going to ground" will be completely outlawed.

Is it me or have the transfer "rumours" this window been even more ridiculous than usual, if that's even possible? I know they have to sell newspapers and everything. But from the Carroll rumours today to Rooney going to Man City, 95% have just been plucked from thin air!

The Lampard rumours have been the best ones though. Firstly, the Daily Mail said Man Utd want him. That entire story was based on a quote Fergie said six years ago where he praised him
Then they top that by reporting that Lamps could go back to West Ham! Every time we play them they chant about his Mum, and they're seriously suggesting he could go back there. Amazing.

I had a chuckle when I read that one as well mate. They have consistently treated the man like shit, even before he left for Chelsea. Why anyone would want to go join the pikeys is beyond me. i've just watched glen johnson 'jump' two footed into lescott and the ref didn't even give a foul. it was far worse than kompany's yet it will go unpunished! there is absolutely no consistency!
