RE: Liverpool FC
That was a mistake by Rangers though mate. They'd love the lad back now.

Get Charlie Adam in a Red jersey and i think he'll be the new Molby/Alonso.That's just my opinion.I think he's a brilliant player.

Interesting read those stats mate. They were posted in January that's why he doesn't have his full tally of goals and assists lad. He's keeping some good company though there...Silva,Nasri,VDV,Fabregas...

If he signs for us i think he'll change your mind.

RE: Liverpool FC
Like the article says Charlie Adam may be worth more than the Man City bank account to Blackpool but not to Liverpool, Man Utd & any other club linked with him.
If he'd not been linked with us since January i.e. Tottenham then his value to say Sunderland would be a very fair £6M, he's a decent passer of the ball but maybe not the best or most affective across the board & with no other player talked about like him (Just his passing) then this makes people think he's twice as good. If Xabi Alonso had gone to another Premier League team then the encore for Adam wouldn't be anywhere near just like if Paul Scholes was 5 or 6 years younger!!!

Yes he's a decent player but with Jordan Henderson around £16M, do we need to have another player costing over £10M sitting on the bench espcially given the silly amount we payed for Andy Carroll who as far as I'm concerned would be a squad player if he'd have cost even half that, not to mention the fact as it looks, we may need to sell Raul Meireles to fund a deal for Charlie Adam.

I know who'll be the first to respond to this saying that selling 28 year old Meireles for a profit & still having some left over when we buy 25 year old British player Adam can only be a good thing in my eyes, I'm made up with the deal we've got. Wink

I think given the fact we still have Raul Meireles & Alberto Aquilani we should use any money considered for his transfer & wages to improve the contract of Meireles & add another £2M to make sure we get Gael Clichy a player we need more than another central midfielder.

Just practicing the local tone lad don't take offense, calm down la.Big Grin

As says Sky Sports News, if you read the papers then he's off to Roma, if we payed the £7M asking price then he'd come to us rather than the gamble of Man City & £7M for a player with one season left on his contract is a bargin given Utd payed close to £20M for Ashley Young & City are said to be close to a £20M deal for Samir Nasri & we did sell Michael Owen for £8M.

I just hope it's not another Adam Johnson situation where we won't pay the little extra or just think Oh well here come City now we've got no chance, the way Rafa & the club didn't even bother to make a bid for him given the reason he was talked about interms of leaving Middlesbrough is because we wanted to buy him then either wouldn't pay a bargin £8M or just gave up as soon as City came in was a fuck embarrassment.

Gonna be a good player but he's only just about to turn 18 Clichy's 26 so we could bring Robinson on for two or three years & if he's good enough to takeover from Clichy & Clichy decides to leave then we'd still be able to make a profit.

He's worth about £8M, £15M max & that's only due to the fact that at the point he got injured he'd scored a few goals, he's got more to his game than the old school big centre forward but at 22 there's a long way to go & then there's the lifestyle, plus having him in the team means that 4-4-2 is all but a must yet most teams... Winning teams now see 4-3-3 as the best way to play given the style of players about now a days.

RE: Liverpool FC
I think a strong 4-3-3 squad can be be easily accomodated with the addition of just a left back and a winger. Lets speculate with the players we have now AND the LB's and wingers wer linked to :- Enrique/Clichy (who's prob going to City) and Downing/Mata. And also Charlie Adam.

Then the team would look something like this......
Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Enrique/Clichy
Gerrard Lucas Meireles
Downing/Mata Carroll Suarez

This leaves: Kelly, Falanagan, Skrtel, Wisdom, Robinson to cover the back 4.....solidWink
Henderson, Aquilani, Spearing, Adam to cover the 3 midfield positions....well coveredRolleyes
And then Maxi, Kuyt, Cole, Pacheco covering the front 3....maybe 1 more needed there.

If 4-3-3 is to be the way forward then we're not a million miles away from having a strong squad with depth. I'd be quite pleased if our squad looked something like that above come August 13th. £30-35 million on 3 or 4 players will get us back in the top 4.

(and when you factor in the £2 million we get for the combined sales of Jovanovic, Konchesky, Poulsen, Ngog and Kyrgiakos it wont seem as much!!!!) Tongue

Someone please reassure me and tell me i'm not talking bollocks!!!!!!

Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.

RE: Liverpool FC
Sorry little fella but your talking bollocks... Kind ofWink

Stewart Downing & Juan Mata are left footed this is the only reason we're going for Downing any other formation other than 4-4-2 & he wouldn't even enter the though process.

Raul Meireles & Alberto Aquilani are maybe 70% certain not to be at the same club next season, if we do play 4-3-3 then unless we do sign Mata then I think Suarez would be the striker in over 70% our games with Kuyt to his right & if he stays Maxi or Joe Cole to his left, & Dani Pacheco is more than likely to go on loan as I can't see both David Ngog & Milan Jovanovic wanting to be sold. Oh & Skrtel may get the nod over Agger???

Give or take the above then this isn't far off what I would've said but I just can't see Kenny playing anything other than 4-4-2Rolleyesannoyed I do think we'll have a big rotation policy next season with between one & three players changing every two or three games, I like this idea it works for the lot down the road & they've got a similar situation to us with a lot of players who play in the same position thus making the 4-3-3 work a dream.

In other news, "Liverpool FC confirmed today that Assistant Manager Sammy Lee has left the Club by mutual consent".... He was sacked. A bit of a shame this as we're not a club known for using this word but I just can't see any other reason, ok they may not have been as blunt but they obviously thought well we don't need him anymore so how do we go about it.... Kenny have a word with your old pal if you will.

The reason I say this is this, "The Club will continue to analyse the requirements of their backroom team and will make further announcements in due course." they're obviously looking at ways of how to cut costs/save money so whats the point in having two assintants when the manager can also do the coaching along with his one assistant.

This may be down to the fact they know that some of the shit left over from last season is gonna be staying put due to them wanting to collect their silly wages so we need to make room elsewhere. That £35M is now coming into perspective.

If we do sign another two players it will only be after we sell two or three & thoses may well be players we other wise wouldn't i.e. Raul Meireles & maybe even giving Maxi a free run home to Argentina just to free up wage space. I'm becoming more & more inclined to believing my initial thoughts that the big spend may not be as big or straight forward as some people thought, it's a good job our squad isn't as bad as most people think & the crop of youngster is a bit of a blessing especially this kid.

RE: Liverpool FC
Well i did say lets speculate with what we have in the squad now hence the inclusion of Meireles & Aquilanibladewave.

Downing is more than capable of playing on the right of a 3 pronged attack. He did so for the majority of last season at Villa with Young playing down the left and was voted their player of the season.

I hope we dont play 4-4-2 as that formation has become outdated in the modern game. You only have to look at England's performances in major tournaments to see that. Also the top 4 teams nowadays i.e Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal (not to mention European teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter, AC Milan) all play with 3 in midfield and the 2 wide guys up front work back when they dont have possession creating a 5 man midfield. If we go back to playing 4-4-2 we'd be overrun in midfield when we come up against the bigger teams. Lets not forget that in 08-09 the 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation got us to second in the league (granted with different personnel). For the most part it was Kuyt and Riera down the flanks (sometimes Babel/Benayoun) with Alonso, Mascherano & Gerrard (more advanced) as the 3 mids.

With the addition of at least one winger and a left back we'll be more than capable of competing. Getting rid of the 5 players i already mentioned would free up around £250K a week in wages ( Jovanovic £100K a week??Huh ) as well as raising a few million in transfer fees. That's £12 million a year off the wage bill plus maybe £10 million in transfers, giving us £22 million to play around with....it all adds upTongueTongue

Ok, ok i've got no more!!!

**Note: All this is mere speculation on my part** Wink
